How would the boys react if they had to fight their brainwashed S/O?

OOooo!!! First ask! 😀 Hi!

Noctis: Generally, I can picture him as calm, but unwilling to warp or actually fight. He’d defend against their attacks and plead with them to snap out of it. But in a situation like this, I can picture the S/O not being able to stop themself. Eventually, since they showed no signs of hearing him, the others would step in to take them down. He’d be unable to actively take a stand against them, and would have to turn away while the others took care of his S/O. They’d knock them out with as minimal damage as possible, which depend’s on the S/O’s training. If they’re heavily trained, I can picture them being difficult to take down, and drawing out the tension. If they’re not very well off with weapons, then it’d only take a strike to the back of the head to end it.

He’d stay by their side while they sleep, holding their hand and hoping that whatever this was, wasn’t permanent.

Prompto: He wouldn’t even be willing to lift a finger against them. How could he? Not even to defend. No instead he’d try and just straight out grab them (read: tackle) at the beginning, try and get them to come back to themself with whispered words. And though he doesn’t look like it, he’s got a strong grip. The S/O wouldn’t really be able to do any damage to him when he’s clinging like that. None physical. So they’d go for a mental damage. Blaming him for how he’d let this happen to them, along with other venomous words. But in reply he’d whisper sweet memories. One for anything they say to him. Surprisingly, it’d start working, and they’d come back to themself in his arms.

Gladiolus: Gladiolus has no qualms about taking out a threat. And since he knows his S/O could potentially be a very large threat, considering he’d trained them himself, he’d strive to take them out as quickly as possible. Though guilt would eat away at him during the fight, and quietly he’d apologize for every hit he landed. He knew his strength, but also knew their determination. It would take a long time for him to actually manage to take them down. And even then it’s from exhaustion. Once they’d been subdued and restrained, the other would leave him alone with them. They’d probably launch into insults and guilt tripping. Gladiolus wouldn’t listen for long though, and would shut their mouth with a kiss. Eventually, the S/O would pass out and upon waking return to normal.

Ignis: He would apologize exactly once at the beginning of the fight and throw himself into the fray. But oh, he’d be dying inside with every venomous look and strike his s/o threw his way. It’d shake him, fighting against someone he loved, and it’d read through in his movement whenever they’d actually land a hit on him. He’d keep in the back of his head that they loved him, truly, and this wasn’t them attacking him. The others, upon seeing the S/O slip past his guard on more than one occasion, would try to intervene, but he’d order them to stay back, he’d handle it. What he wouldn’t be able to handle is to see other hurt his S/O, considering that something terrible must have happened for them to be behaving this way. He’d keep drawing the fight out, hoping that they’d snap out of it on their own. And eventually, the brainwashing would begin to fade into confusion, and as soon as they’d recognize Ignis they’d throw down their weapons and instead wrap their arms around him.
