I read something like that in another fandom and am pretty sure it’s been done before but I still wanted to do that myself xD. Their reaction to their S/O getting insulted by a relative, while their S/O is still baffled.

Nyx
– Goes from ‘family-friendly fathers favorite’ to ‘fight me’
– In less than ten seconds
– “How fucking dare you open your mouth in front of them?”
– Death glare might pulverize the relative on the spot
– “Don’t breath in my darlings’ direction!”
– Gets his S/O close to him
– That relative better not say anything ever again
– Super offended
– No one talks about his S/O like this

Gladio
– Much like Nyx, his mood makes a 360° turn
– “I better misheard your words or else we’ll have a problem, Buddy.”
– Suddenly looks like a Behemoth ready for the kill
– Sneaks an arm around his S/O
– Growls
– Glares at the person for the next minutes before he showers his S/O in affection

Noctis
– Everyone knows it’s bad when the shy boyfriend gets loud
– “Take that back!” He shouts through the room
– Moves closer to his S/O
– “How dare you?”
– His voice sounds like venom dripping from a snakes mouth
– Has an arm around his S/O
– Probably has to be separated from the relative

Prompto
– I completely puzzled over why someone would insult his S/O
– To him, they are the perfect person to ever exist
– “That’s funny, I suddenly want to punch you in the face!”
– Leads his S/O away
– Has seriously no idea why?
– Cuddles his S/O

Ignis
– Stares at the person with the intensity of the sun
– Takes his S/O’s hand
– “How about we join the less brain-dead part of your family, Darling?”
– That person is dead to him
– Is seriously mad about it
– “Don’t listen to them, my dear. I’ll cook them if you want me to.”

Cor
– Talks without thinking first
– “I suggest you stop breathing until you realize what you just said.”
  “Or pass out, I don’t care.”
– Has the coldest, deadliest face ever seen
– Rambles threats into his S/O’s hair
– Hugs them for a while

Aranea
– Calmly walks up to her S/O and the relative
– Puts an arm around her darlings waist
– Smiles at the relative
– “You know the last person that had the audacity to talk like this to the person I love had been found dead with their guts  spread out for the animals to eat.”
– Leads her S/O away
– Laughs at the baffled faces

Ravus
– Furious
– “How does an Imbecile like you even manage to breathe?”
– Would totally start a fight
– And win
– No one is allowed to talk to his S/O for the next hour
– “I did not overreact! They should have known better than to insult you!” He pouts, holding his S/O

Ardyn
– “Oh my, someone looks like they might be untouchable.”
– Wraps an arm around his S/O
– “It’s been a pleasure to meet you. Be careful on your way home.”
– Kisses his S/Os’ forehead
– Leads them to the rest of the family
– Or back to the hotel if they want
– Something… happened to the relative
– “Tragic accidents happen.”
