General Physical Contact: Aranea initiates a lot of physical contact – I keep thinking of the video where she slaps Noct out of ‘danger’ status, and the bit in Episode Prompto at the campfire scene (healing him if he self-harms, kicking him over and then the ‘idiot sandwich’ thing to his face, etc.). She’s very casual in how she comports herself around allies, enemies, and her superiors. But I also feel that if someone initiated physical contact with her, that she would startle just a little bit – more mentally than physically (she keeps her composure outwardly, but inside she’s going ‘what the fuck what the fuck’) – and is usually surprised because she also gives off this air of being unapproachable in a way. She doesn’t let it fluster her really, but it’s something that she’s unused to and secretly, she welcomes it. I wouldn’t say she’s as touch-starved as I believe Ignis to be, but she definitely doesn’t receive enough general contact with others. Sex and sex-related contact is a horse of a different color though.

Driving Headcanon: Do. Not. Let. Aranea. Drive.
Have you seen homegirl fighting? Flying around on a modified jet-powered lance? Bish is craaazy.

At least that’s what Biggs, Wedge, and her subordinates would say. But really, she’s a damn good driver. So good, she can easily do shit like drifting and doughnuts – girl’s a thrill seeker. She’s never ended up in a wreck and she can drive a car and fly an airship and pilot a mech just as good as anyone else. Probably even better than most. It’s just that her subordinates literally get motion sick/carsick/airship-sick whenever she’s at the wheel. So she saves the driving for when she’s by herself.

So there’s this thing that I learned in college (yeah, college) known as the Jellyfish.

Basically, when you’re reaching to fist-bump or high five or something like that to a person, you suddenly pull your hand away in a movement that mimics a Jellyfish, followed by the obligatory declaration, ‘JELLYFISH!’ Kinda like a version of psyching a person out by retreating your hand last minute.

Alternatively, you can do this with a hug, in which you just move your arms like a Jellyfish and shout ‘BIGGER JELLYFISH!’ in response.

Why do I bring this up?

Imagine Prompto doing this to people.

Noctis is about ready to bro-fist his friend after a successful encounter with the MT soldiers, and Prompto just goes, ‘Jellyfish!’ and drifts his hand away. Noctis has to facepalm because he always falls for that. ALWAYS.

Prompto greets Ignis at an important meeting in regards to Prompto’s training with the Crownsguard, but on instinct, he reaches to take Ignis’s hand and just drifts his hand away. ‘Jellyfish!’ Ignis stands there, gawking, offended, just looking at his empty hand until Prompto awkwardly takes his hand and shakes it for Ignis to relax.

Gladiolus having a rough day, and Prompto wanting to comfort him. He tells the big guy to ‘reel it in,’ among one of the FIRST warnings that Prompto’s going to do it. And just when he’s about to hug Gladio… ‘BIGGER JELLYFISH!’ Gladiolus is furious and shouts ‘BARRACUDA!’ before he chases Prompto to slam him into a bear-trap of a hug.

The list can continue, I feel.

But it’s even better when you picture Prompto aggressively Jellyfishing away from Verstael in Episode Prompto.
