How would the boys react if they had to fight their brainwashed S/O?

OOooo!!! First ask! 😀 Hi!

Noctis: Generally, I can picture him as calm, but unwilling to warp or actually fight. He’d defend against their attacks and plead with them to snap out of it. But in a situation like this, I can picture the S/O not being able to stop themself. Eventually, since they showed no signs of hearing him, the others would step in to take them down. He’d be unable to actively take a stand against them, and would have to turn away while the others took care of his S/O. They’d knock them out with as minimal damage as possible, which depend’s on the S/O’s training. If they’re heavily trained, I can picture them being difficult to take down, and drawing out the tension. If they’re not very well off with weapons, then it’d only take a strike to the back of the head to end it.

He’d stay by their side while they sleep, holding their hand and hoping that whatever this was, wasn’t permanent.

Prompto: He wouldn’t even be willing to lift a finger against them. How could he? Not even to defend. No instead he’d try and just straight out grab them (read: tackle) at the beginning, try and get them to come back to themself with whispered words. And though he doesn’t look like it, he’s got a strong grip. The S/O wouldn’t really be able to do any damage to him when he’s clinging like that. None physical. So they’d go for a mental damage. Blaming him for how he’d let this happen to them, along with other venomous words. But in reply he’d whisper sweet memories. One for anything they say to him. Surprisingly, it’d start working, and they’d come back to themself in his arms.

Gladiolus: Gladiolus has no qualms about taking out a threat. And since he knows his S/O could potentially be a very large threat, considering he’d trained them himself, he’d strive to take them out as quickly as possible. Though guilt would eat away at him during the fight, and quietly he’d apologize for every hit he landed. He knew his strength, but also knew their determination. It would take a long time for him to actually manage to take them down. And even then it’s from exhaustion. Once they’d been subdued and restrained, the other would leave him alone with them. They’d probably launch into insults and guilt tripping. Gladiolus wouldn’t listen for long though, and would shut their mouth with a kiss. Eventually, the S/O would pass out and upon waking return to normal.

Ignis: He would apologize exactly once at the beginning of the fight and throw himself into the fray. But oh, he’d be dying inside with every venomous look and strike his s/o threw his way. It’d shake him, fighting against someone he loved, and it’d read through in his movement whenever they’d actually land a hit on him. He’d keep in the back of his head that they loved him, truly, and this wasn’t them attacking him. The others, upon seeing the S/O slip past his guard on more than one occasion, would try to intervene, but he’d order them to stay back, he’d handle it. What he wouldn’t be able to handle is to see other hurt his S/O, considering that something terrible must have happened for them to be behaving this way. He’d keep drawing the fight out, hoping that they’d snap out of it on their own. And eventually, the brainwashing would begin to fade into confusion, and as soon as they’d recognize Ignis they’d throw down their weapons and instead wrap their arms around him.

How would the boys react to knowing their S/O was in Insomnia when it fell. Then when they try to get ahold of then there’s nothing but relieved to find them with Iris.

backseat-imagines:

  • We already saw the way in which Noctis acted when the news first spread to him about Insomnia’s fall, and when he heard the words that Regis and Luna were also killed. And he suspected you had suffered the same fate, and he held the same kind of anger and sadness for that too.
  • But then news kicked up of Luna’s survival, how Marshall had made it out, and so had some others. So Noctis started to keep up some hope that you somehow had made it. Even if your line was still dead.
  • It’s not until after fully departing with Cor that Noctis receives a strange number he doesn’t recognize. At first he debated ignoring it, it could have been a wrong number, but something tugged at him to answer it.
  • “Hello?” He answers. “Noctis, is that really you?”
  • The whole trip gets delayed for a little while because he ends up spending a good long while on the phone with you. Listening to how you managed to get out with Iris, and how that was mostly thanks to her father. But at that point you were not too sure of the fate of his father, or what of Lady Lunafreya. And it breaks your heart to hear his voice solemnly drop when he confirms of what happened to Regis.
  • But after that he promises that they’ll start heading over immediately.
  • Ignis does find quite a bit of worry resting on his shoulders. Though he hides it very well.
  • He loses a slight bit of sleep over it. But outside of that he ends up focusing harder and harder on the tasks at hand just to distract himself better.
  • But once left on his own for just a few minutes, Ignis finds himself calling your phone and hoping for an answer instead of an automated voice saying that you can’t be reached.
  • In all honesty, after a few days of this he actually starts to become more irritable and his fuse gets just a tad bit shorter.
  • But that all changes once Noctis gets a call from Iris and how by some lucky miracle Iris made it out with you, alive. Though he wishes both phones could have been passed, Ignis was still content with the fact that his fears weren’t true.
  • Ignis won’t be too pushy about it, but he will urge Noct that perhaps they should cut down even further on how much they are dawdling and urge for him to go to Lestallum all the quicker.
  • Oh the big guy starts to lose it at first.
  • Gladio is actually a bit upset, and he hides that behind a veil of anger. And his temper is on a much shorter fuse.
  • Though not much could have been done about Insomnia, he still kicks himself over you; wishing he would have let you come with when you had asked about it. Hell he wished he would have been back there, again, temporarily because maybe then he could have gotten you out himself. He even expressed this to Ignis, but Iggy was right; there was no use in blaming himself or playing with “what ifs”.
  • Frankly, he gets awfully tired of throwing that pity party for himself even. So his time of snapping quells back into quietness. He might not be acting out quite like he was, but everyone knew the big guy still wasn’t being quite himself still.
But then they get over to Lestallum and find Iris. And she’s quick to grab her brother by the wrist and lead him, saying “I have a big surprise for you!” and she leads him right to where you are.
  • Gladio finds a wave of relief washing over him. But at the same time he’s still a little mad because why did neither you or Iris inform him of your survival before instead of letting him sit there and worry and fester?
  • Prompto was upset when everything went down in Insomnia. Home was lost, and so were many innocent lives. Not only that, but he knew you had been in there too when all this went down.
  • He tries to not show how upset he is, because honestly he’s just trying to hold himself together at this point. But the moment one of them brings up, “Wait, wasn’t y/n still back there” is when that comes crashing down.
  • Ignis tries his best to comfort Prompto while still giving him space. Noctis tries to as well, and tries to find ways to distract him. And Gladio quickly snaps on him that crying won’t change anything and it certainly won’t bring you back, so he needs to put his head back in the game.
  • Eventually it’s Prompto who gets a call from Iris. She never goes out of her way to call him much so it comes as a surprise. “How are you holding up?” She asks. And even though Prompto doesn’t want to lie, he also doesn’t want to worry Iris; he says he’s fine. “Well it’s time to turn that fine into a good because I have a surprise for you! Hang on!”
  • And then all of the sudden he hears someone else on the line, “Hello! Did you miss me?” and he’s ready to cry because you are ALIVE and he’s so happy for that.
  • Prompto quickly asks you for a  location, and he ends up making a demand for the group to go where you and Iris are a.s.a.p. And you can bet as soon as they get there that Prompto is going to pull you into the tightest hug he can muster and pepper kisses all over your face.

Okay I’ve been thinking aaaand –

Ardyn, Ignis, Aranea, Luna, and Loqi have voices that can make you cry. They just sound so majestic and have so much range. It’s honestly like they’re singing to the heavens their voices are so beautiful.

Noctis, Gladio, Iris are the ones who sound … surprisingly lovely. Noctis found out he doesn’t sound half bad after a dare that went sour — everyone thought he’d sound like shit but in actuality he has one of those emo, cracky, boy-band voices and Prompto everyone who dared him had to sit the fuck down because by god the prince can sing.

Prompto, Dino, and Cindy, are the ones who really need to sit the fuck down but love to sing anyway because they just love doing it even though they sound horrible. I mean … these are the types of folks that make you excuse yourself just to escape their singing, they sound really, really bad. Cindy’s only kinda okay if you like country music and that’s like 12% of the population, and Dino’s especially bad because he tries to hit ques and have a range he just simply doesn’t have and god just let’s go home.
