He’d enjoy playing with your hair, though only if you were alone. It’d relax him, and probably put him to sleep after a while. He’d enjoy looking over your shoulder to see what you were drawing if you’d let him. Star gazing is something he’d be super DELIGHTED to do with you, and plus he’d love the constellations. (However, he’d pretend to forget which was which so you’d have to tell him again, just so he could hear you talk about something you love.) He’d treat every single one of your smiles like a gift and enjoy your puns. Like, he’d hate and love how many you know. And having someone he didn’t have to be serious with? He’d treasure you. (And on the days when you can’t get out of bed or just can’t function, he’d be there beside you.)

May I have a matchup please? I’m a bisexual girl who loves music and comic books. I have a hard time making friends because meeting people makes me nervous and I’m kinda shy. But I warm up fast after the fact and tend to be a little clingy. I’m affectionate, perceptive, and a huge dork. I have a ton of stuffed animals and I’m obsessed with action movies. I’m a perfectionist and can give myself a really hard time by trying to be achieving something at all times even if I really just want a nap ❤️

I match you with Aranea!

She’s very easy to get along with, and though she keeps her thoughts to herself, she’s very good at drawing people out of their shells and getting to know them. She’s the exact opposite of you, but honestly? She’d really enjoy someone clingy and affectionate. And if your perception allowed you to pick up on that, she’d deny it till she was blue in the face. (But she wouldn’t push you away or anything. In fact, she’d probably pull you closer if you gave her a hug or leaned against her so you wouldn’t stop being affectionate.) Action movies are a curiosity to her, and she’d probably comment about what looks like it could actually be done in real life, or what wouldn’t be possible. She’d also be very good at pulling you out of the perfectionism spiral that could sometimes happen. When the need to get something juuuuuust right or perhaps you just keep going and going without stopping, she’d be like, “Whoa there.” And probably lecture you/slash put in an action movie to try and get you to relax.

I’d like a ffxv ship pls! I’ve been told I’m rly funny but I never intend to make people laugh. I only trust/like a few people. I have only felt genuine love for one person. I don’t really have a set type but I like bad guys ;). I LOVE creative writing & I typically fantasize about things that will never happen but I like my fantasies more than reality. I take a lot of my creative insp from video games, music & movies as well as my dreams & I think that those have shaped me as a person.

I match you with Ignis!

He has a quiet sense of humor, and would probably smile at some of the things you say. (While others are laughing their heads off.) His ability to remain composed is legendary. Like you, he also trusts very few people, but when he does, it’s a whole-hearted endeavor. I know you said you like bad guys, and Ignis, in all appearances, it an extremely good noodle. However he’s more adventurous than he lets on. He’s just very clever about it, just suggesting that they go down a different path, try a new thing, experiment. (And honestly I can picture some of his adventures not following all the rules.) And since you’re creative and let your mind wander into fantasy, Ignis would be someone able to ground you in reality in case you needed to concentrate on something. (Otherwise, if you’re not busy, he wouldn’t mind losing you to your mind for a while.)

I would love to request headcanons on the chocobros having an S/O who is an illustrator who loves animation and dreams of character designing for a major company! (WhAT NO ITS NOT ME WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT–)

Noctis:

-He’d be very supportive, wanting his S/O to chase their dreams and all.

-That said, he doesn’t know a lick about any of it, so when the S/O starts explaining things, he learns a lot.

-When working for one of the companies comes up he’d be like, ‘just tell them we’re dating, who’s going to say no to the prince’s significant other?’ (His face would screw up at his title though, and the S/O would laugh, knowing his distaste for being called the prince.) (The S/O would absolutely not do as he said, considering they’d want to get in on their own talent.)

-The S/O one days bases a character off him and he’s very caught off guard. Like, full on blushing and stammering in surprise. (And he adores the thought behind it.)

Prompto:

-Once again he’d be like “If you ever need a reference, I will personally go find what you’re looking for and photograph it for you.”

-He’d also love watching the S/O draw. Whether it’s their facial expressions while they draw or how focused they are, he’d find something about their art process enamoring.

-In the case that the S/Os parents are approving, he’d be 100% on their side through everything. Like, he’d want you to reach for your dreams no matter what.

-During late night art sessions, he’d keep the S/O company…right until deciding it’s gotten to a ridiculously late hour and would attack the S/O with a comforter to drag them off to bed, or maybe he’d settle for camping out in the living room to sleep together. As long as they got SOME sleep.

Gladiolus:

-He’d be curious about it and asking the S/O questions constantly. Like, “Do you have to some up with your own story and characters? …Have you come up with your own characters?”

-He’d also be very into hearing and seeing the S/O’s original works. (But he’d secretly love when you’d draw characters from his favorite shows.)

-If the S/O ever drew a character from a book he’s reading he’d actually be speechless. He’d know, from all his questions, how much time goes into illustrations. (The S/O could expect to be showered in romance for the rest of the month probably.)

-IF the S/O ever had to pull an all nighter on a project, he’d be right there with them. He’d know it was silly to stay up all night with the S/O when he had things to do tomorrow, but he’d still do it.

Ignis:

-Working around this man would be easy, as he’d probably be doing his reports and whatnot for Noctis. It’d be super quiet and easy to concentrate on what the S/Os doing.

-However, once he’s decided that he’d worked enough for the day, he’d be of the opinion the S/O had as well. If the project isn’t due like, the very next day, he’d ask them to put away their work and perhaps help with dinner. (He’d DEFINITELY make sure the S/O wouldn’t neglect their health for their art.)

-He’d also be the one to have a set day where both of them do nothing. No working, and probably would have made plans with the S/O to go on a date of have a date night in if it’s been a particularly hard week for either of them.

-If the S/O gets an interview with a company for animation/design/etc. he’d fuss over them. “Are you feeling alright?” “Do you need anything?” “Remember to look them in the eye and smile.” (He’d probably be more nervous for them then they are.)

Could I ask for an angsty scenario where the reader has had a longtime crush on Prompto and they watch as he confesses to Cindy? Maybe one of the other chocobros knows about the readers feelings? You can totally decide if things end happy or sad! Thank you~

You would watch from a distance with the other boys as Prompto and Cindy spoke. From your place, you could read Prompto’s lips.

“I..I just really like you.”

You’d wish he’d say those words to you, but know that such feelings couldn’t be changed so easily. A heavy sigh would leave you as you’d turn away from the scene. Cindy hadn’t shown any interest in Prompto at all. And as much as you wished he liked you instead, you hoped that she would return his affections.

He deserved to be happy.

You’d step away, smiling brightly to go sit at the other side of the haven you were all currently standing on while waiting for Prompto. Ignis would excuse himself from the others effortlessly, both Noctis and Gladio not thinking anything of it. Then he’d follow after you.

“Are you alright?” Ignis would ask. He’d know. With those sharp eyes of his, he’d know. He’d have seen your affectionate glances at Prompto when he wasn’t looking. From the lighthearted banter to the small acts of kindness you showed to Prompto alone, he’d know.

Another, more watery, sigh would leave you, and your head would hang as your eyes rested on the rocks on the ground. “No.”

It’d be hard, but you’d managed to keep most of your hurt-heart from your voice. And with a strong resolve you’d lift your head and steel yourself, “But I will be.”

Heartbreak always hurt. But it wasn’t the end of the world. It hurt sure. But that would go away. Plus…in the back of your mind you knew that Cindy might not return Prompto’s feelings. He’d needs someone too in that case. He’d be hurt, like you. But you’d want him to be happy, and console him.

Ignis would then pat your shoulder and nod, leaving you to collect yourself. And once you did, you’d return to the others, and pretend that you were okay.

Prompto would return, but to your surprise, he was only a little dejected. She hadn’t said no, but it hadn’t been a yes either. It was a maybe. It was a someday. It’s wasn’t a promise but a possibility. Which was a lot more than what you would be given if he ever found out.

So you’d push your feelings away. And hope for the best.

oh oh Id like a scenario please! One where the chocobros’ s/o gets hurt in a rough battle and when they wake up they’ve forgotten everything about their time together! “I’m sorry have we met before?” How would the boys react and how would they try to fix it?

Noctis:

When they first wake up, he’s so relieved. Like holding onto their hand and pressing kisses to their knuckles as they start to wake. He’d push their hair back out of their face and press a kiss to their forehead, and ask how they feel.

“A little uncomfortable with you kissing me. Who are you?” He’d definitely be shocked, and lay their hand back down by their side. He’d question their memory and upon receiving an answer of them not remembering much of anything, he’d go to Ignis.

Ignis would state that with memory problems, there was nothing much they could do but wait. Noctis would nod his head at the information, but be very much numb inside. He’d go back to them, reintroduce himself, explain that they were hurt, and that he’d like to try and help them remember if he could.

They accept, but they’d be back to square one with trust. So it’s a lot of dancing around each other. For Noctis, it would be finding and remembering boundaries that weren’t there before. But slowly, they’d grow to trust him again as they recover.

They’d listen to him talk about their memories together. He’d borrow Prompto’s camera and show them picture from before. He’d point out the places they’d been and what they had done in the past together as well. It’s a lot of work, and emotionally trying for Noctis, but he keeps at it. And it starts to pay off.

He’d be in the middle of a story when they’re alone, sitting at the edge of a haven. He’d be pointing to the stars and reminiscing on a stargazing adventure they’d gone on. He’d mention that it had been the night after his father had told him that he’d be marrying Luna, and that they’d be parted. They’d suddenly take his hand in theirs and say what they said that same night.

“I would wish on every single star to never be parted from you Noct.”

He’d fall silent and look over at them, and they’d frown, their expression becoming confused at the sudden rush of emotion that came with that phrase. He’d be so excited and ask if they remembered now. They’d say no, but they remembered that. And after that moment more come streaming back to them in the next few days. They recall the stories he told, and even start adding in details of the stories he tells them.

It’s a long road, but eventually they remember everything.

Prompto;

He’s too scared to be by their side when they wake. They’d been thrown into a stone wall, their head had made a sickening smack against the wall. He wouldn’t be able to get that out of his mind. And he would blame himself. If he’d been faster, he was sure that he could have gotten them out of the way in time.

When they do awake he’d drawn back into the tent upon heading a thud. They’d tried to get up and walk around, only for their legs to not support their weight. He’d ask if they were alright and mention that they shouldn’t be out of bed, and that he could get them what they wanted so they really should just stay in bed. They ask for a glass of water and he gets it in record time.

“Well aren’t I lucky.” they’d say after downing the glass, “I think I got the cutest nurse in the history of Eos. Can you tell me your name?”

He’d turn pale, but offer them a shaky smile and give them their name. He’d ask if they remembered their own. They’d shake their head no, but find that the thought didn’t frighten them as much as it should have. So he’d tell them their name and explain what happened. They’d ask if they’d recover what they lost and he’d reply he didn’t know. So he’d explain everything he remembered about their life, and what they had been doing, their goals, and the fact they’d been travelling with them.

They’d be cleared to travel again and that’s that. The others worry for Prompto, when he keeps them at arm’s length, but they allow it. If he needs time to work through this they’d give it to him.

They weren’t expecting their memories to play out while they slept. As nightmares. Or that they would sleep walk and talk in their sleep. They wake up time after time and apologize to whoever had to bring them back from their wanderings.

It all comes to a head in Lestallum. They’d get a flash of a memory, and fleeting feeling of love and sadness. As soon as the car parks they stomp off, pulling the hair on the back of their head, trying to remember. Prompto goes after them and takes their hands in his.

“There’s something missing…someone. Someone so so important. I need to remember them. Why can’t I remember?”

Prompto wouldn’t have wanted to fight for their memories before, feeling like he had failed them, and hoping that they could move on without their memories of him. But this inspires him to start with his camera and showing them pieces of what they don’t remember. He’d ask their impression about the pictures, and be surprised when they’d take a guess at what they’d been doing and get it right. So the memories would be there, lurking beneath the surface.

So he’d start by asking the guys to revisit places they’d been, and walking them through their memories. And things would come back after they broke through the initial barrier of things. But only the truly important things. Like loving Prompto. The rest is just…there, waiting to be recalled.

Gladiolus:

He’s holding their hand and falls asleep while waiting for them to wake. Instead, he wakes to someone running their fingers through his hair gently, and asking him softly if he’s up.  And it’s funny, because it’s just like his S/O to be the one waking him in this situation. So his sits up and just looks them over, recalling how a day ago it wasn’t sure if he’d ever see their eyes open again.

“Hey.” He’d say, not sure what else to say. Though he’d squeeze their hand tighter.

“Hi.” They’d speak quietly, feeling safe around him. Loved almost. They wouldn’t be able to place why though. “Where…Where am I?”

He’d explain and say what happened and then ask, “Any other questions?”

“Y-yeah. Who am I?”

He’d definitely be hurt and a little scared. He knew it was a possibility, but he had assumed that such a thing like memory loss would never happen to his S/O. But he’d stay by their side and tell them everything. They’d accept it easily enough, trusting him so easily. Trusting him felt familiar at least. And they’d tell him that.

So he has hope that they’d remember him. They remember their trust for him, and surprisingly, they, even without their memories, fall in love with him again. It’s rather sweet, that they remember their love first before anything else. So he’s content to let things stay like that if they wished. Telling them the things they couldn’t remember. And they don’t want to chase after their memories. Not yet. They’re content as well.

And it’s not surprising that after a time, they do start remembering. But it’s an odd way to remember. They become displaced in time mentally. The first time it happens, they wake up and are excited to get the regalia back from Cindy finally, and then be on their way to Altissia. He has to tell them that was months ago and they remember themself.

It happens a few more times, but Gladio is there to ground them back in the present. And soon, they wake up and everything is as it should be. The only draw back is that they have a massive headache that doesn’t go away for about two weeks.

Ignis:

He is prepared for the worse and the worse occurs. They awaken and immediately ask where they were, what happened, who he was, who they were, and how long before they were well again. He’s used to the rapid fire, no nonsense questions and answers just as dutifully. But it’s eating him inside that they don’t recall anything. And worries him endlessly. He wants to take them to Lestallum to an actual doctor and place them in the care of Iris while they recover.

But they automatically rebel against that thought and demand that they will see the prince through his journey. “If you were hurt like I was, would you want to be sent away?”

He’d have to admit that no, nothing would keep him from his duty.

“Well good. Because in that we are the same.”

So they recover and function without their memories for a few weeks. Or their emotions it seems like, another troubling turn of events. They become logic to a fault. And almost all to willing to sacrifice themself for the ‘greater good’. Even the most traumatic things they go through doesn’t phase them. It’s almost too much for Ignis to bear, and they make it worse by wishing for their memories to never return. “I’m more useful this way.”

He prays that they don’t think that’s true and prays their memories return to them. And he thinks that just maybe, he was heard.

Because one day it just comes rushing back to them. They’re helping him set up their small camping kitchen when they suddenly drop the plate they were holding. It shatters and they start hyperventilating and though Ignis tries to calm them, they pass out. So he takes them into the tent and sets them down, once more waiting for them to wake.

And when they do they dart out of the tent and into his arms, apologizing over and over again for the past few weeks, of not remembering, of not feeling anything. He refused to accept the apology because he feels there’s nothing to apologize for.

“You were hurt. It’s not your fault.”
