would you be willing to continue that iggy/childhood s/o scenario? like they spend time together during the Moogle Chocobo Carnival (bonus if the group stalks them lolol), and maybe a proposal on a gondola during the fireworks? muchly appreciate extra fluff. thanks!

omg. Yes. Totally willing. A+ prompt here.

During a visit to Lestallum the boys(And Iris), despite Ignis’ wishes, manage convince his S/O to come with them to Altissia.

This is of course, after they’ve grilled him till he’s burnt about their relationship for the past few months. (They can CLEARLY see he misses them. After all, they used to see each other everyday…They still haven’t found out about the two’s old living situation. Ignis managed to keep THAT under wraps thankfully.)

He’s rather cross with the boys, and his heart does slightly falter when he thinks of them travelling with them when any number of things could happen…

But ultimately, after spending almost every moment of his time traveling next to them, he’d figure out he was glad to have them beside him, worried or not.

Prompto is actually kicked to the backseat because if he’s taking them along into danger he’s damn well going to spend his time behind the wheel holding their hand.

As they’re finishing up a few last minute things, they do go along with them on hunts for extra gil and such. Which freaks him out because ‘it’s DANGEROUS’.

Which results in them KINDLY reminding him that they can handle themself in a fight.

And by kindly, I mean joining in on one of the boy’s training sessions and not pulling their punches. (Literally, they’re not above just straight up throwing a punch in the middle of battle while they wait for their weapon to return to their hand.) lowkey headcanon that this particular S/O specializes in using giant  shuriken.

He wouldn’t be so concerned for them after that, but he does wish that they would STOP flinging their weapon away from themself. Because he knows they know how to fight with it in hand.

Anyways, they get the things to finish the boat and start their journey to awaken the leviathan.

Most of the trip there Ignis is letting them lay across the back seat of the boat and rest their head on his lap. Seasickness hits them without mercy, and the most he can do is try and keep them asleep and relaxed.

It would be a sight for the boy’s to see, not that they’d be watching closely of course(they totally are ).

Ignis wouldn’t be much different from usual, he’s still composed and unflappable and almost seems like he has no emotions toward his S/O around them. (And the S/O the same way around the boys, which is kind of sad. The others sort of LIKE seeing Iggy so relaxed and like seeing the sweet way they treat each other.)

But…there’s small thing they’d never seen him do before. Like running his hand through their hair absentmindedly. Or occasionally looking down at their face like he’s reading words written there. Sometimes, underneath their own conversations with each other (they didn’t want to bother Ignis and his S/O) they’d hear him whispering reassuring things to them, and occasionally they’d catch them reminiscing quietly about memories that were between the two of them and them only.

They’d never seen him so…attentive. Even without showing his emotions, his actions betray the love he feels for them.

Upon arriving and the boys see something and would want to dart off immediately without explanation. “And you both HAVE to come with us.”

He’d be super suspicious of why, but wouldn’t be able to place exactly what made him so. Perhaps it’s because they just won’t stop grinning.

They’d get a room right away so they wouldn’t have to worry about it later and spend the night just exploring the town. Ignis would be happier than he’d been in a while and so would his S/O. They’d all have dinner together and just let themselves relax for a moment. It’ll be a week before they can arrange an audience with the council woman, and Luna is recovering before she can see them, so they’ve nothing to do.

(They end up spending about three weeks in Altissia before the summoning.)

It’s only the next day, when Ignis wakes up with his S/O in his arms and sees that the other three are gone that he knows for certain that something is UP.

As it turns out, they’d been hanging out with them all night to ensure that neither of them saw the signs and advertisements for the Chocobo Moogle Festival! Surprise for them!

They’d leave them a note on the desk that they’d basically ditched them for the day, and to go have fun with each other.

They’d sort of look at each other and just know that they both were debating on just going back to bed. But, not wanting to hurt the other three’s feelings, because clearly more though than they’re usually capable of went into this. (Because lets face it, the only one who actually plans things on this level is Ignis.)

So they’d get ready for the day. And it’s remind them of their apartments in Insomnia. Without even realizing they were doing it, they’d fallen into the old habit of adjusting the smallest things on the other.

It’d be just little things. They’d help him fix the sleeves on his jacket just so…He’d help them put on their necklaces and bracelets…It’s be so normal they wouldn’t realize they were doing it until they’d adjust his glasses ever so slightly and their eyes would met.

This would be one of those rare moment that they’d both be sort of embarrassed. It was terribly domestic of them, something neither was used to acknowledging. It just ‘was’ with them.

He’s then smile in appreciation and gently grab their hand, press a kiss to the knuckles and lower their hands. A silent signal that they were ready.

…On second though, upon seeing all the yellow they were NOT ready.

Both are slightly shocked at how the city had changed over night.

And naturally, their first experience of the carnival is Kenny the crow…

They go to sit on a bench to sort of…just let everything sink in.

Cue Kenny’s creepy head turn and scaring the crap out of them both.

They’d end up falling off the bench with flailing from Ignis and a yelp from them. And the crow would just cackle before wandering off. They’d look at each other and just KNOW that today was going to be an off day. (Especially when they hear a laugh that sounds suspiciously like Prompto’s suddenly being cut short, as if someone had attempted to muffle it.)

“…Should we…?” “Just let them have their fun dear.” They’d know that they were being followed.

Knowing they were being followed would sort of start a game between the two of them by accident.

What would get the loudest reaction out of the three following them?

It goes back and forth, Ignis suddenly slipping into one language, and his S/O replying in a completely different one. (Also a game between each other to see who messes up their conversation first.)

A small, “What the hell?” from the prince could be heard somewhere behind them. Point for Ignis because he started that game.

The second? Ignis would be playing the shooting game, both deciding to try winning those seats for the firework display. (And staying in the suite had it’s appeal as well…)

But then, when he’d completely distracted they lean forward and wrap their arms around his shoulders from where he’s sitting and whisper something in his ear. It was just an embarrassing memory, something they’d held over Ignis for YEARS. And being reminded of it so suddenly causes him to lose his composure and his cheeks turn a VERY dark shade of red.

The other three, thinking they’re being quiet and they were out of range would whistle and say out loud, “Whatever they whispered must have been something else to turn him THAT color.”

Three points to his S/O.

From then on it’s back and forth until they’re both tied at 23 points.

They’re walking along one of the docks to sit at the end of it and laugh together. It’s been a fun day so far.

He’d been perfectly gentlemanly all day, their arms had been circled together as they walked, he’d putting a guiding hand on their lower back when he didn’t want to get separated, and he’d always check with them to make sure they were alright.

They in turn had been very affectionate. Whispering sweet nothings out of earshot of the others, reminding him of different memories and pointing out the different things they though might interest Ignis.

So, in a conspiratorial whisper, they decided to end the game in a big way. They had enough medallions to get the suite and fireworks seat. And they wanted to rest before seeing the show. And they really wanted to see the other’s reactions to what was about to happen.

In a planned move, he suddenly sat up from where he had been leaning against their shoulder and shoved them off the pier.

They could literally hear Prompto screech across the distance in a shrill tone, “HE DID NOT JUST-” before they went under the water.

When they surfaced they laughed so hard they had trouble catching their breath. Ignis would reach down a hand to help them, but instead they’d pull him in as well.

They’d then laugh together, sneaking a kiss before getting out of the water.

After stripping off as many outer layers as they could while still preserving their modesty, they would say just LOUDLY enough for the three people following them to hear, “We should head back to the hotel and see what the others are doing.”

“Shit.” could be heard and then rapidly fading footsteps.

Upon arriving back they’d greet the others and pretend they hadn’t seen them all day, and then they’d take turns in the shower.

The other three would pretend to be enamored in their phones, but would watch them fall into their habits again. (Not creepy at all guys…)

They really had never seen this side of Ignis. They knew he could be affectionate, but this was a whole other level.

Ignis would help dry their hair, and they’d tease him by saying it would be fine air drying. He’d press a kiss to their forehead after they comb his hair back for him.

Small things that were really killing them all with sweetness.

They’d finish getting ready and head out to the fireworks show, content and happy with one another.

Ignis and they would sit in the gondola and just…think of all they’d been through and talk about it.

They had been through a lot. And they loved each other.

When the show starts their attention is only held by it for a short while. Because the other would catch their eye in the light.

Like so many of the major changes in their relationship, it would be unplanned.

“Marry me.”

They’d look at him, and then smile at him genuinely. “Okay.”

And it just as simple as that.

However, in a nearby gondola, the three are sitting and cheering for their friend. But thankfully, it’s drowned out by the blasts overhead. IF Ignis had known they were there, he probably would have waited until later to ask.

Hello, first of all, I love your writing! It’s very good :3 I was wondering if I could request a headcanon? Like, how would the guys react if during battle their s/o jumped in front of them and took a life threatening hit for them and barely survived? o.o Thank you :3

Noctis:

He’d be absolutely APPALLED upon seeing his S/O take an ice bomb in full force on his behalf.

He hadn’t been watching himself as carefully as he should have, and had left himself unguarded.

And Ice bomb had seen the opening and moved to get closer and implode.

But his S/O would have dropped their weapon and ran over, flinging him clear of the attack at the last moment.

They’d be covered in frost instantly, and drop to the ground. The very air they BREATHED hurt them because it was so cold.

He’d rush over to them, fending off another attack before it could hurt them even more.

However, they’d be frozen where they had dropped, and start shaking uncontrollably. They wouldn’t feel like they couldn’t breath and everything would start to fade.

It was so cold.

Meanwhile, he’d have to leave them on the ground where they are so he can finish dispatching the enemies with the rest of the group.

Once that’s done he’d rush back to their side and pull them into his arms.

Ignis would tell him they’d need to get them to a safe area and raise their body temperature before it took too much of a toll.

They’d do just that. They’d get to a haven, strip them down to their tanktop and jeans, bundle them in blankets by the fire and Noctis would just hold them.

They’d hope it was enough.

When they’d come to, they’d still fell cold, but alive. And Noctis would kiss them all over their face in relief, and tell them never to do that to him again.

They’d dead look him in the eye and refuse. “Feelings for each other aside, it’s part of my JOB to keep you alive.”

So he’d retaliate by refusing to let them free of the blankets and his arms until they agree.

They wouldn’t mind, “I’m still cold anyways.”

Of course, then he’d threaten to leave them by the camp fire alone.

Which, they reply they’re certain one of the other guys would be GLAD to help them warm up. (They’re joking but that only makes Noctis sullen and cause him to ignore them even if he refused to let them go.)

It’s be a source of tension. They’re willing to die for him, but he’d want them to live for him.

TLDR; He’d panic, but do right by them. He’d do everything he could to make them better, and when they are better, he’d make them promise not to do it again. However, if they don’t agree he will grow angry. But not at them. It’d make him want to strive to be better. So the next time he’s in a situation like that, his S/O wouldn’t have to almost die for him.

Prompto:

He hadn’t seen the MT until it was too late. They had lunged forward for him, a diagonal slash ready to take him out of the battle.

But it never landed. His S/O tackled him out of the way, but in the process was struck themselves.

The blow landed across their collar bones, much too close to the throat for his comfort. And they’d start losing blood. A frightening amount of it, and they’d be unconscious in seconds.

He’d press his hands to the wound to try and slow the bleeding and it does help some. But the blood would start to stain his hands after a while.

He’d start gunning like a madman, never leaving their side. Just pointing and shooting through his fear.

When the battles over, he’d quickly call everyone over to see who had a curative.

He’d pour the potion down their throat, and feel the skin knit back together under his hands.

They wouldn’t wake though. The potion could heal the flesh but not replace blood.

So they’d camp for the night, and Prompto would wait for them to wake up after trying to wash their blood from his hands. (It’s stained there, and scared the shit out of him every time he sees it.)

When they wake they ask if HE’S alright.

His starts gibbering nonsense he’s so pissed at them, turning red in the face from frustration, and only managed to make one sentence come out clear.

“DON’T DO THAT AGAIN.”

And they’d laugh, high pitched and clear and pull him down into a kiss with them. “I love you too.”

TLDR; He’d panic as well, but handle it. It would only be after they’re out of danger and recovering he’d realize, “holy shit, I almost lost them.” He’d find the thought so upsetting, he wouldn’t be able to make actual words come out of his mouth, only distressed noises. And he’d be angry at them. He’d think he wasn’t worth dying over.

Gladio:

He had trained to handle dangerous situations, and could withstand most things. But one doesn’t walk away from a fight with a coeurl unharmed.

When it casts lightning at him, he fully expected to be taken out of the fight by it. He was prepared for it.

But nothing could have prepared him to see his S/O step in front of him so calmly, and absorb the shock meant for him.

On someone his size, it would have hurt him yes, maybe even kept him down for a week or so. But on someone their size…

Their heart stopped dead in their chest and they fell to the ground.

He’d roar and end up fighting all the harder. And when the beast is dead he’d demand a phoenix down to bring them back.

And up the feather going up in flames, they’d inhale sharply and clutch at his sleeve.

“You’re okay. You’re okay.” He’d reassure. And then he’d scoop them off the ground and carry them to their camp.

He knew that no matter what he’d say that they loved him too much to let him be hurt. And he’d do the same. It was an understanding between them.

That didn’t mean it wouldn’t hurt him to think about losing them because of his mistakes.

TLDR; He accepts that their love will cause them to protect the other, and get hurt on the other’s behalf. And he’d fine with it. But he’d suffer mentally and scold himself over and over if he did almost lose them.

Ignis:

He’d usually so careful. He watches the other’s backs and heals when he’d needed. And as a result he watches his own back constantly as well. He can’t afford to slip up when the others rely on him.

But all’s it takes is one misstep.

An MT assassin rushing up to him in a blind spot. He’d hear his S/O yell his name too late and brace for the pain.

But it never came. He’d look behind him and see his S/O standing over the defeated MT. He’d thank them, and they’d say think nothing of it.

It wouldn’t be untl after the battle he sees that they’ve been run through with a poisoned blade.

They’d hang on just for him though, refusing to go unconscious while he administered the antidote first, and then pull the blade out and gave them a potion.

They’d be a shaky mess from how hard it was to hang on, but in the end he’d pull them into an embrace. He’d feel so guilty for letting his guard waver.

“everyone needs someone to watch their back Ig. You can’t be perfect.”

TLDR: he’d be the most stable out of them all, the emotions of almost losing them hitting him after they’re fully healed and out of danger.

Headcanon time for mommy and daddy!. Ignis and Gladio with their s/o who is a famous belly dancer. (Separate please ~ & sorry for asking mostly Noctis stuff. ;-;)

PFft MOMMY AND DADDy. xD And no worries, I love writing for Noctis. xD Here we go!

Gladio:

He’d fully aware of their profession and appreciates that they trust him enough to let him know about it without worrying he’d get jealous. (Why would he?)

It’s one thing to know about it. But it DIFFERENT to witness it.

They live together and one day when he comes home he walks in on them practicing.

…holy six how did he not know that they could MOVE like that.

Or look like that. What the heck are they wearing?! He honestly was trying to preserve their modesty, but everywhere they looked he could only see SKIN.

NOW he understands why someone would be jealous.

They wouldn’t hear him, since they’re practicing in their head phones and dancing with their eyes closed.

So when he comes up behind them and puts his hands on their waist, they yelp in surprise.

Their face would burn bright red when they see him, and they’d ask if they were bothering him.

WELL. Yes, but not in the way they thought. He’d state that they moved beautifully. And ask why they were practicing.

They’d reply that they had an exhibition coming up and they were nervous about it. And then he’d ask if he could watch them.

You know, for a bellydancer they’re quite shy about their body, and dressed really reservedly in their daily life.

But when he sees them on the stage, it’s like they’re completely different. Seductive and confident, and beautiful…then he’d realize that everyone else here was probably thinking the same thing.

There’s that jealousy again.

When they’d get home he’d pull them into a very heated kiss and praise their performance. And then he’d mention how glad he was that he was the only one allowed to touch them.

Imagine his surprise when he discovers they’re still wearing their costume…

From then on he’d try to go to all their performances, and love that he got to be the one they went home with.

Ignis:

It all would start one day when they mention in an offhand comment that the new routine they were learning was giving them problems.

He’d be confused by what they meant, and they’d realize HOLY CRAP. My boyfriend doesn’t know what my profession is.

He’d question why they’re laughing and they’d just tell him they could show him at home what they meant. And the mischievous smile they give him actually gives him pause.

What were they up to?

Upon arriving home, they change into something a LOT more revealing and Ignis can feel his face burning, did it suddenly get really warm in here?

They’d hit play on some music and explain the routine while going through it all.

Ignis would definitly feel his face burning as he watched them.

There was something really, REALLY mesmerizing about seeing something so controlled be so fluid at the same time.

(On top of that, he’d have the strangest urge to put his hands on their hips while they moved.)

When they’d finisehd going through the routine, he’d still be a blushing mess. They’d state maybe the routine was just fine with how far his jaw was dropped.

After overwhelming him, they’d sit next to him and cuddle up with him. They’d take his phone and show him their website and promotional videos.

He’d just be in shock that was dating someone who was famous and he hadn’t known.

They laugh and tell him that’s why they loved him.

I think it’s also time for a scenario! So what about one with a s/o who is a really close childhood friend to Noctis. They fell for him years ago but never told him because they heared that he will marry Luna. After the fall of Insomnia they met again in Altissia. The both of them talk a little about what’s going on and somehow Noctis starts to talk about Luna and that brings the feeling back. They can hold it anymore and confess to him and probably tell them to have eyes for them.~

Alrighty! 😀

They all inherit their positions around the royal family. His S/O was no different. But their line was rendered useless the day the queen died. Their family, while unwaveringly loyal to the king, had always served the queens/princesses of the land. So being without a queen to serve under, they were stuck in a sort of stasis.

Though that didn’t mean they were allowed to slack off on their duties. They were always in training for any potential new queens, taking special care of the queens private chambers. They learned everything they were supposed to, but since there was no queen for their parent to serve, they could live as normal citizens. And when a new queen would be crowned, their parent would step down and they would take their place as the queen’s companion.

Noctis didn’t know who they were when they met in elementary school. He didn’t realize they were of a noble house, much like the Amicitia and Scientia. Not that it mattered, they became the closest of friends anyways.

(I headcanon that the king has his shield and adviser, and the queen has a sword and companion.)

It wasn’t until high school his S/O realized that they had romantic feelings for the prince, but quickly crushed those feelings. They could not allow them to come to light, since they were meant to serve the royal family, and distanced themself from him as a result. Eventually, this distance caused their friendship to become strained and then dissolved.

A few years after they both graduated, it was announced that there would soon be a new queen to serve. Lunafreya Nox Fleuret was to be married to their prince. This was when they were rushed to the palace to start preparation for her arrival.

They run into Noctis, Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto, greeting them briefly and allowing themselves a small time to catch up a little. And much to their horror, they discovered the feelings had not faded.

He’d be surprised to see them there, and as soon as they left he’d ask Ignis about their presence. Imagine his shock when he discovers they basically are meant to be to the queen as Ignis is to him.

The four depart and they are left in the citadel. And they get to briefly meet Luna, along side the person who would become Luna’s sword, and are genuinely looking forward to working for her.

(Luna doesn’t comment on it, but she can feel that both already loved her unconditionally. Which does surprise her.)

But then…Insomnia is plunged into chaos. And falls. They manage to be a part of the escape. But their parents are dead. The sword’s line has ended in defense of the woman would would have been queen. And they are left adrift.

Luna takes them with her, and she does serve as her companion alongside Gentiana. Since it was the last thing they were ordered to do in the name of their family, they weren’t going to let Luna out of their sight.

In Altissia, they wait beside her for Noctis’ arrival. They are fully aware of what will happen to Luna, and have helped her through some of the fatigue she feels from the damage her body is taking to wake the Astrals.

And when Luna requires something be brought to her, they go to get it from the market. Imagine their surprise when they recognize the four boys waving from a gondola.

They wave back and meet them where they gondola docks. They request to meet Luna immediately. But they can’t allow that to happen yet. Per Luna’s request they cannot meet yet. Though they reassure Noctis that Luna does want to see him. It’s just that she needs time to rest before contacting Leviathan.

Gentiana appears before them and relays a message from Luna to them, telling them to guide the boys around Altissia. Gentiana from there takes the items Luna requested and leave them to it.

They spend the whole day together, allowing the boys to relax and enjoy the day. They also catch up and find out Noctis’ thoughts on the marriage to Luna and how he’s content with the match.

Slow dancing at the Maagho to music was one of the highlights of the night. They dance with all of them at least once.

The day allows them to come to terms with their feelings, and this night allows them to say goodbye. Because Luna and Noctis were to be married and honestly, how could they come between them?

They take them to the Leville Hotel to check in and have a moment alone with Noctis on a balcony.

There they say they have something to tell him. They let it all out. They tell him they’ve loved him for a long time, but will never acted on their feelings, and never will now. They can’t look him in the eye as they speak. But they smile as they speak, and stare into the distance.

“Just thought you should know.” They then turn to leave, and are at peace with their choice to let him go. But when he pulls them back and pressed a kiss to their mouth, they feel the world fall away.

He explains as he holds them close, that he had liked them for almost as along, and though he loves Luna, it’s not the same love he feels for them.

They have each other for the night, and if the others see anything, they don’t comment on it. They’ve known that the two cared for each other. Which is why they had been constantly checking with Noctis about the marriage. If he had ever show signs of not wanting it, they would have encouraged him to not go through with it.

They tell him, they’ll love him always, but this night was the only one they could have together. Considering Luna and his impending marriage. they depart reluctantly, but both understand their places.

And then Altissia is evacuated and destroyed when Leviathan is awakened. Luna dies. And they are one of the people listed as missing.

As it turns out, Gentiana has passed the trident onto them to pass on from Luna, and reveals herself as Shiva. They serve under her for a while, fulfilling Luna’s wishes.

They appear on the train with Gentiana, no longer missing, bid her goodbye, and from there on serve as a support to Ignis.

They do not pursue the prince’s affections after he had lost Luna, but they do wait for him. They recognize that he did love Luna, even if it was on strange deeper level than just romance. And eventually, Noctis does reach out for them.

FFXV ask! 13, 5 and 14!

13. How do you feel about Ardyn in terms of being a villain? Do you think he surpasses previous ones like Square said he did or did he fall short?

I think he met them exactly actually. He’s an excellent villain. One that kind of hooked me in with how he’d help you, and then take that help away. And it was an insidious plot with how he’d had led Noctis and co into doing what he wanted. Just the shear amount of planning he must have done to play them all like chess pieces and get them to move into the situations he wanted.

5. Character(s) you wanted to see more of?

Ravus, Gentiana, Cor, and Luna. I just wanted to see more of Luna’s personal quests and hear more of Gentiana’s background as the oracle’s helper, or Ravus’ activities with the empire, and just WHERE DID COR GO.

14. Any headcanons you want to share? This can be about plot or just the characters themselves. If another blog posted headcanons you really like, tell us about those too!

Alright, so this mostly just a self indulgent headcanon, but I honestly headcanon that Eos is extremely accepting of different sexualities and genders. Like, no one assumes things and misgendering is a thing that hardly happens. There’s a few exceptions here and there, but the people who are against acceptance are the MINORITY in Eos. Like I said. It’s self-indulgent.

AND HOLY. I love anything posted by chocobro-Daydreams, insomniacitizen, chocobros, and ffxvscenario. They’re brilliant writers honestly.

Hi there! I’d like to request reaction scenarios (or headcanons, if easier for you) for the bros who couldn’t reach their s/o after the fall of Insomnia only to be told by Iris (or another member of the Crownsguard) that they were severely injured while trying to escape and still recovering in Lestallum? Love me some angst. ;) Thank you for your time.

D: ….here you go. xD I love angst but don’t know if I do it justice.

Noctis:

Someone very dear to him had been left in Insomnia. And he was headed for Altissia. It wasn’t a good thing or a bad one. It just was. They both knew, when they had first started their relationship, that one day they’d have to depart from one another. Because he was a prince and they…he didn’t want to say they were common but that’s how everyone else saw them. No matter how much they cared, their bloodline, or rather their lack of one, would part them. And he did care. He cared almost too much. And the words Ignis had spoken crushed him.

“There was an attack. The imperial army has taken the crown city.”

He felt sick at first. The king, his father, was confirmed dead. That alone was enough to upset him nearly to the point of tears. But then a moment later he recalled the person who he had left behind, and sheer panic flooded his system. When he had a moment alone, he dialed their number on their phone. But there was no answer.

He was distraught to say the least. He’d lost his father. Had he lost them as well? He knew the answer. Considering that they had been a member of the Kingsglaive, and the king was dead…he knew the answer. That would be when they’d go to observe the city at a distance, and they’d see the devastation first hand. Prompto on his behalf would be calling their phone very 5 minutes during the car ride there, in the hope that they’d answer and prove they were alright.

But upon arriving there’d still be no response.

He’d want to fall to his knees and scream at the world upon seeing the crown city in the distance. At the devastation that befell it. Of the dead he could not reach. Lunafreya’s name was added to the list then, and even his own name. How could life take so much away from him in such a short time?

That would be when they all start calling anyone in the city they know, trying to find out who was alive and who was dead. Cor would pick up and Noctis would demand answers. He’d tell them where to meet him, and confirm the king’s death. Noctis would ask about his ‘friend’ and Cor would only say he’d explain more upon seeing Noctis in person.

It’d give him hope. Maybe, just maybe, depending on what Cor said, they’d have made it out alright. Maybe there was one less name on the list of the dead. Finding Cor had been a challenge on it’s own, considering he had already moved on from Hammerhead by the time they reached there. Cindy would make sure they’re all right and give them directions on where to go.

That’s when she’d mention that Cor had a companion with him. One that wasn’t doing too well.

They hurried onward after that, hope beating in Noctis’ chest. Please please please let it be them. And upon reaching the outpost, they’d point him in the direction Cor was. Upon meeting with him, he’d explain things. About the blades he’d have to find, about the king’s motivations, and that the entire Glaive had fallen for their king.

But the the topic would then turn to the one he had managed to save. Most had died of their wounds, but this one? They had fought tooth and nail for their duty, even after being mortally wounded. It hadn’t been enough of course. Nothing would have been enough to stop the destruction of the city and death of the king. But they had held on for so long, long after their fellow glaives had succumbed to their wounds, that he couldn’t just leave them to die. So he brought them with. Did the best he could even after they went unconscious. And had hunters escort them to Lestallum to be taken care of by a friend of his.

He wouldn’t be able to see them for a long time. Cor didn’t even know their name. But the potential for it to be them was what gave him strength to keep moving forward. And even if it wasn’t them…He felt he owed a thanks to this member of the Kingsglaive for fighting for his father until the end.

And when he does get to Lestallum…It’s them. They’re in a wheelchair from how weakened they were, war torn, and despondent. But it’s them. And they’re expected to make a full physical recovery. They have a new scar along their forehead and along their neck from blades. He’s told they also have a few scars along their torso from bullets. It had been a very close call.

But then, it’d be revealed that they don’t remember much of anything. The trauma to their head took their memories away from them, and he’d apologize to them. They’d state he had nothing to apologize for. And on top of that, they’d stand up from their wheelchair, with great difficulty, and kneel before him. They’d state the only thing they do remember is the oath they took to serve the king. And since the previous king had passed, they’d like to stay at his side to serve as soon as they were well enough.

“A Kingsglaive has no purpose without a king to serve.”

It’d hurt. But he wouldn’t want to leave them again. So he’d allow it, and pull them to their feet.

“You stand as my equal now.” He’d mutter. You were always my equal.

How silly they’d been to allow something like bloodlines to part them. And it’d be uncertain if they’d ever be able to be together again with their missing memories. But they would stay by his side. Ifrit’s fire or Shiva’s wind, he wouldn’t let them leave his side ever again.

The others, of course, wouldn’t object. An experienced member of the kingsglaive fighting beside them would be welcome. (Plus, who could bear parting Noctis from the one person he’d managed to recover from the fallen city?) And so, they’d fight beside him, and grow furious with him if he’d try to protect them. Which he would. A lot. He’d fear for them more than he did for himself.

~

Bonus:

At the back of their mind, they’d felt like there was something important, something they knew they had lost, just within their reach… But they’d never strive to recover it. They pain they had felt every time they tried would keep them from it. And the pain they could see on Noctis’ face would cause them to keep him at arms length.

They’d never recover their memories willingly.

Prompto:

No one but him knew of the person he left behind. He, surprisingly, is very shy about his lovers, past and present. He’d have dozens of photos of his S/O, but those photos would only be for him. Which wasn’t weird…right? He’s not ashamed of them or anything, but he’d be uncomfortable letting his friends know about them for fear of being fun of. And they wouldn’t mind. No, they were patient and kind and loved him unreservedly. And they were willing to wait until he was absolutely sure in their relationship to reveal it.

He came to regret his silly reason for hiding their relationship.

When Insomnia falls, he’s pretty much alone in dealing with the fact they might be gone. The other don’t even KNOW about them after all. And Prompto is horrifyingly good at hiding what he’s feeling.

The other’s would have no clue about the turmoil he’d go through.

He’d still be the perfect best friend, letting Noctis lean on him and pretending he hadn’t lost anything. Which in truth, compared to the others he really had lost the least. And he let them assume that he hadn’t lost anyone important. Gods above it hurt to pretend as if his S/O didn’t exist, but he’d do it. For Noct’s sake.

They’d see the devastation for themselves, and upon seeing the others take out their phone to call those they cared about in the city. He’d subtly send a text to them, and hope for a response.

‘Darling, please, please answer if you’re alright. Please.’

When days had passed and there was no sign that they had even seen the message, he’d finally break. Mentally and emotionally. The others would worry about him when suddenly, the bubbly gunner would just fall quiet. And stay that way. He’d still be as supportive as ever, but his humor would be almost nonexistent. And though they enjoyed the precision and how ruthless he had become in battle, they’d miss the playful way he used to fight, and the balance he had brought with his actions.

Eventually, they’d corner him and it wouldn’t take much for it to come bursting out. Because he loved them damn it, and they weren’t responding. He was scared, and he didn’t want them to know. He was being selfish by even telling them he’d say. He never wanted to bother any of them with this. And they’d understand. They’d scold him lightly for not telling them sooner, but they’d understand.

They’d let him rest and recover for a while, camping while he worked through his loss. But no matter what they did, he just wouldn’t be the same. Noctis had been supportive and welcoming, and though it would help it wouldn’t heal. Ignis would make an effort to talk more with the youngest of their group, but responses that were sharp, cutting, and to the point would be all he’d get in return. Gladio would try to, literally, smack some sense into him…if only he could get a grip on him. Prompto was a slippery uncatchable little shit when he wanted to be.

Nothing would work and they’d eventually be forced to continue onward with Prompto in his current state. And that’s when suddenly there would be a phone call from their number, and he’d scramble to answer.

“Hello?!”

The voice on the other line was not theirs but he’d fall to his knees all the same. They were alive. Barely though. A coma had them in it’s grips. They had just been removed from the city by some of the few crownsguard left alive doing rescue work and were currently being housed at Lestallum in the hopes that they’d wake up. Apparently they had been caught in the crossfire of a battle. They weren’t sure if it was the MT’s or the city, but someone had set off blast charges. Which caused a building they had been near to implode, and the rubble to knock them into unconsciousness.

From there, they had been taken to a small makeshift hospital where they had been recovering for the past weeks. It was only when they were moved outside the city and were near a power source that their phone reactivated and got their attention when a text notification had pinged. They had hoped there would be someone to contact about them, and Prompto’s number was the first number they tried.

So after being fully updated, with his bros listening in so they knew what was going on, they’d agree to go to Lestallum for Prompto’s sake. To see if there was any hope for his S/O waking soon.

Unfortunately, there was no miraculous wake up. No, they were truly checked out of this world. Which made it easier for Prompto to leave their side to continue on with Noctis. Every time they were in Lestallum though, they’d make it a point to visit them. They were alive. And someday might wake up. That was enough for Prompto.

Bonus:

Their eyes would flutter open, and from their throat, a raspy voice would ask for Prompto. Luckily for them a nurse would be in their room and hurry and call their boyfriend for them. Hearing their voice would cause him to cry. And he’d FORCE everyone to return to Lestallum immediately. Because they’d woken up. And upon arriving he’d dive onto the bed with them and refuse to leave for a few days.

“You scared me, you scared me, I love you.” He’d whisper over and over to them, and they’d just hold onto him in response.

Gladiolus:

Gladio would hold onto hope that they made it out. Even when the king is confirmed dead and they see the burning city with their own eyes, he hopes. Because it’s all he has for now. Iris had told him that she had gotten out of the city largely because of his S/O. They stayed behind to hold back the enemy while her, Talcott, and Jeremy escaped. They wouldn’t have made it out with out their sacrifice.

Don’t call it a sacrifice, they could still yet live.

They had been so close to safety, and yet chose to protect his family instead. Damn their bleeding heart to Ifrit’s flames and back. He loved and hated them for their choice. They knew that his family meant the world to him, but didn’t they realize they meant just as much?

But after a few hours, knowing his father had died doing his duty put things into perspective. People died, and that was that. He’d kill his hope with his own hands and close his eyes. He moved on. With pain and a heaviness in his chest, he moved on. He would whisper prayers to the city, and say goodbye to all he knew. He would then turn his back on them, striding to Noctis’ side to fulfill his destiny. As his father did.

Weeks would pass and the thought of them would still sting. But only barely. His grief is quiet, but he manages to keep going, keep smiling, and eventually he does find himself enjoying life again. He really does manage to move on after a month. But then…His phone rings with an unknown number.

“Did you miss me?” they’d ask, sounding breathless and almost manic.

He’d absolutely demand to know where they’re at and want to see them.

“Another time. Just know I love you-” they’d get cut off and he’d realize, holy shit they’re still in the city and fighting.

He’d be proud of them. Even though they’d hung up, he’d ask that they’d raise hell on his behalf. That would be when Iris would call days later. She let him know that they’re alive, but being escorted out of the city by hunters. They were hurt in their last fight, badly so. But Iris has arranged for them to recover under her care. He’d thank his baby sister for that and ask to make a detour in Lestallum.

Of course, since they’re hurt they’re expected not to move around to much.

As if they cared.

Upon seeing him they’d literally fling themself out the second story window of the hotel and he’d be forced to catch them. They’d wince at the contact, but hang onto him all the same. He’d have to carry them back up to their room, and make them promise not to jump out of the window again. They would, and then they’d describe what happened.

The city, for the most part, is safe. The people there have started resuming their lives, going to work and what not. But others…others were prepared to fight and rage against the imperials until death. They were one of them. They weren’t letting anyone leave the city, even if you were just visiting, which made their fighting dangerous. But they had learned to pass the word on by word of mouth where civilians should stay away from.

In one of the fights, their back had been lit on fire, and they’d have burn scars for the rest of their life. “But I think it just makes me look badass.” They’d joke. But Gladio would notice the slight tremor in their hands. Coming so close to dying had scared them. And he’d wordlessly pull them into a hug and they’d relax. He could see through them and that’s why they loved him.

“I’m useless like this. And you have a duty to do. Gladio, just promise me you’ll come back alive.”

He’d promise, though he wouldn’t know if he’d be able to keep it or not.

Ignis:

He’d be so careful to betray nothing of his fears to the others. Especially not Noctis. Losing the one he left behind was nothing compared to losing everything the prince did. But it’d still hurt him. When he had woken up and first saw the news, he had immediately called them. And they had answered.

“Now’s not a good time Ig. Please….You have to know I love you.”

But then there was a commotion in the background, people clamoring and sounding afraid. He ask what was going on and they’d just say goodbye. He’d do a little more research, and find out anyone in the city was had served the king was a target. As a retainer for the royal family, hat included them.

He’d worry and try calling them again later, but there’d be no response this time. He’d go about his day after that, consoling Noctis and the others, and trying to think rationally. Seeing the city first hand was hard, but he’d still hold it together.

It would be that night that it’d hit him. He might never see never see them again he’d realize. And while putting things away, he’d shed a tear or two. But that’s all he’d allow himself. And nothing would change in his relations with the others.

But then, oddly enough, he’d get a phone call from Iris. He’d ask if she meant to speak to Gladio, but she’d respond no. She’s volunteering at a local hospital in Lestallum and was sorting through some of the belongings of the residents and recognized the name of one of them. And found a note in their belonging adressed to them.

“I think it was to be sent to you if they died.”

He’d make an excuse to go to Lesallum and see for himself, hope coursing through his veins. He’d request that Iris keep this to herself, and she would. And upon arriving he’d have no trouble in locating them. They’d be asleep, recovering from blood loss and some interior damage from a high impact collision. But when he’d take their hand, they’d wake up, and smile the brightest smile he’d ever seen on them.

They’d talk softly and he’d listen. They apologize for worrying him, but he wouldn’t allow them to finish. “You’re safe, and alive. That’s all I ask.”

They’d still have to stay in the hospital till they recovered, but after that they’d join Iris, Jeremy, and Talcott at the hotel, and stay with them until they could go home. It would be indefinite when they’d get to return, but they wouldn’t mind. And Iris would sort of adopt them as another sibling. It wouldn’t be until later they say just what happened.

They’d been afraid when the imperials caught up to them, and brought their ship down in flames. They were one of the only survivors to escape the wreckage. The only reason they survived was that they had been found by hunters and taken to help right away.

He’d be worried about how close they’d come to death, but all in all just thankful to the six they lived.

May I have a match up please? I’m bisexual. I love to draw, read comic books, and listen to music. I like action movies and stargazing. I’m a bit of a thrill seeker but only when someones around to encourage me. I love the ocean and taking care of my little siblings. I have a hard time opening up to others but I’m very loyal and compassionate. I’m stubborn and I need to feel like I’m needed. I hate being the center of attention and I don’t like people who aren’t honest with me. Thank you!

I match you with Cindy!

Alright, I don’t know why, but you’re a dead ringer for someone that would get along famously with Cindy. So you like stargazing and she lives practically in the middle of no where. Do you know how amazing the stars would be to watch with her without all the light pollution of the city? Not to mention she’s nothing but encouraging, and I think she’d love to play a part in you seeking adventures and thrills.

She doesn’t really open up to anyone either, which might be a little hard for both of you. Communication is key in a relationship. But I think you’d manage in the end. Also, there’s plenty to do around the garage, so you’d always be needed for something. And let’s be honest here, the center of attention would be Cindy herself, and if you were ever in the spot light and very uncomfortable, she’d willingly steal the show because the girl can command a room.

Cindy is honest and straight forward, and compassionate too. I seriously love the idea of you both together.
