Could I ask for an angsty scenario where the reader has had a longtime crush on Prompto and they watch as he confesses to Cindy? Maybe one of the other chocobros knows about the readers feelings? You can totally decide if things end happy or sad! Thank you~

You would watch from a distance with the other boys as Prompto and Cindy spoke. From your place, you could read Prompto’s lips.

“I..I just really like you.”

You’d wish he’d say those words to you, but know that such feelings couldn’t be changed so easily. A heavy sigh would leave you as you’d turn away from the scene. Cindy hadn’t shown any interest in Prompto at all. And as much as you wished he liked you instead, you hoped that she would return his affections.

He deserved to be happy.

You’d step away, smiling brightly to go sit at the other side of the haven you were all currently standing on while waiting for Prompto. Ignis would excuse himself from the others effortlessly, both Noctis and Gladio not thinking anything of it. Then he’d follow after you.

“Are you alright?” Ignis would ask. He’d know. With those sharp eyes of his, he’d know. He’d have seen your affectionate glances at Prompto when he wasn’t looking. From the lighthearted banter to the small acts of kindness you showed to Prompto alone, he’d know.

Another, more watery, sigh would leave you, and your head would hang as your eyes rested on the rocks on the ground. “No.”

It’d be hard, but you’d managed to keep most of your hurt-heart from your voice. And with a strong resolve you’d lift your head and steel yourself, “But I will be.”

Heartbreak always hurt. But it wasn’t the end of the world. It hurt sure. But that would go away. Plus…in the back of your mind you knew that Cindy might not return Prompto’s feelings. He’d needs someone too in that case. He’d be hurt, like you. But you’d want him to be happy, and console him.

Ignis would then pat your shoulder and nod, leaving you to collect yourself. And once you did, you’d return to the others, and pretend that you were okay.

Prompto would return, but to your surprise, he was only a little dejected. She hadn’t said no, but it hadn’t been a yes either. It was a maybe. It was a someday. It’s wasn’t a promise but a possibility. Which was a lot more than what you would be given if he ever found out.

So you’d push your feelings away. And hope for the best.

oh oh Id like a scenario please! One where the chocobros’ s/o gets hurt in a rough battle and when they wake up they’ve forgotten everything about their time together! “I’m sorry have we met before?” How would the boys react and how would they try to fix it?

Noctis:

When they first wake up, he’s so relieved. Like holding onto their hand and pressing kisses to their knuckles as they start to wake. He’d push their hair back out of their face and press a kiss to their forehead, and ask how they feel.

“A little uncomfortable with you kissing me. Who are you?” He’d definitely be shocked, and lay their hand back down by their side. He’d question their memory and upon receiving an answer of them not remembering much of anything, he’d go to Ignis.

Ignis would state that with memory problems, there was nothing much they could do but wait. Noctis would nod his head at the information, but be very much numb inside. He’d go back to them, reintroduce himself, explain that they were hurt, and that he’d like to try and help them remember if he could.

They accept, but they’d be back to square one with trust. So it’s a lot of dancing around each other. For Noctis, it would be finding and remembering boundaries that weren’t there before. But slowly, they’d grow to trust him again as they recover.

They’d listen to him talk about their memories together. He’d borrow Prompto’s camera and show them picture from before. He’d point out the places they’d been and what they had done in the past together as well. It’s a lot of work, and emotionally trying for Noctis, but he keeps at it. And it starts to pay off.

He’d be in the middle of a story when they’re alone, sitting at the edge of a haven. He’d be pointing to the stars and reminiscing on a stargazing adventure they’d gone on. He’d mention that it had been the night after his father had told him that he’d be marrying Luna, and that they’d be parted. They’d suddenly take his hand in theirs and say what they said that same night.

“I would wish on every single star to never be parted from you Noct.”

He’d fall silent and look over at them, and they’d frown, their expression becoming confused at the sudden rush of emotion that came with that phrase. He’d be so excited and ask if they remembered now. They’d say no, but they remembered that. And after that moment more come streaming back to them in the next few days. They recall the stories he told, and even start adding in details of the stories he tells them.

It’s a long road, but eventually they remember everything.

Prompto;

He’s too scared to be by their side when they wake. They’d been thrown into a stone wall, their head had made a sickening smack against the wall. He wouldn’t be able to get that out of his mind. And he would blame himself. If he’d been faster, he was sure that he could have gotten them out of the way in time.

When they do awake he’d drawn back into the tent upon heading a thud. They’d tried to get up and walk around, only for their legs to not support their weight. He’d ask if they were alright and mention that they shouldn’t be out of bed, and that he could get them what they wanted so they really should just stay in bed. They ask for a glass of water and he gets it in record time.

“Well aren’t I lucky.” they’d say after downing the glass, “I think I got the cutest nurse in the history of Eos. Can you tell me your name?”

He’d turn pale, but offer them a shaky smile and give them their name. He’d ask if they remembered their own. They’d shake their head no, but find that the thought didn’t frighten them as much as it should have. So he’d tell them their name and explain what happened. They’d ask if they’d recover what they lost and he’d reply he didn’t know. So he’d explain everything he remembered about their life, and what they had been doing, their goals, and the fact they’d been travelling with them.

They’d be cleared to travel again and that’s that. The others worry for Prompto, when he keeps them at arm’s length, but they allow it. If he needs time to work through this they’d give it to him.

They weren’t expecting their memories to play out while they slept. As nightmares. Or that they would sleep walk and talk in their sleep. They wake up time after time and apologize to whoever had to bring them back from their wanderings.

It all comes to a head in Lestallum. They’d get a flash of a memory, and fleeting feeling of love and sadness. As soon as the car parks they stomp off, pulling the hair on the back of their head, trying to remember. Prompto goes after them and takes their hands in his.

“There’s something missing…someone. Someone so so important. I need to remember them. Why can’t I remember?”

Prompto wouldn’t have wanted to fight for their memories before, feeling like he had failed them, and hoping that they could move on without their memories of him. But this inspires him to start with his camera and showing them pieces of what they don’t remember. He’d ask their impression about the pictures, and be surprised when they’d take a guess at what they’d been doing and get it right. So the memories would be there, lurking beneath the surface.

So he’d start by asking the guys to revisit places they’d been, and walking them through their memories. And things would come back after they broke through the initial barrier of things. But only the truly important things. Like loving Prompto. The rest is just…there, waiting to be recalled.

Gladiolus:

He’s holding their hand and falls asleep while waiting for them to wake. Instead, he wakes to someone running their fingers through his hair gently, and asking him softly if he’s up.  And it’s funny, because it’s just like his S/O to be the one waking him in this situation. So his sits up and just looks them over, recalling how a day ago it wasn’t sure if he’d ever see their eyes open again.

“Hey.” He’d say, not sure what else to say. Though he’d squeeze their hand tighter.

“Hi.” They’d speak quietly, feeling safe around him. Loved almost. They wouldn’t be able to place why though. “Where…Where am I?”

He’d explain and say what happened and then ask, “Any other questions?”

“Y-yeah. Who am I?”

He’d definitely be hurt and a little scared. He knew it was a possibility, but he had assumed that such a thing like memory loss would never happen to his S/O. But he’d stay by their side and tell them everything. They’d accept it easily enough, trusting him so easily. Trusting him felt familiar at least. And they’d tell him that.

So he has hope that they’d remember him. They remember their trust for him, and surprisingly, they, even without their memories, fall in love with him again. It’s rather sweet, that they remember their love first before anything else. So he’s content to let things stay like that if they wished. Telling them the things they couldn’t remember. And they don’t want to chase after their memories. Not yet. They’re content as well.

And it’s not surprising that after a time, they do start remembering. But it’s an odd way to remember. They become displaced in time mentally. The first time it happens, they wake up and are excited to get the regalia back from Cindy finally, and then be on their way to Altissia. He has to tell them that was months ago and they remember themself.

It happens a few more times, but Gladio is there to ground them back in the present. And soon, they wake up and everything is as it should be. The only draw back is that they have a massive headache that doesn’t go away for about two weeks.

Ignis:

He is prepared for the worse and the worse occurs. They awaken and immediately ask where they were, what happened, who he was, who they were, and how long before they were well again. He’s used to the rapid fire, no nonsense questions and answers just as dutifully. But it’s eating him inside that they don’t recall anything. And worries him endlessly. He wants to take them to Lestallum to an actual doctor and place them in the care of Iris while they recover.

But they automatically rebel against that thought and demand that they will see the prince through his journey. “If you were hurt like I was, would you want to be sent away?”

He’d have to admit that no, nothing would keep him from his duty.

“Well good. Because in that we are the same.”

So they recover and function without their memories for a few weeks. Or their emotions it seems like, another troubling turn of events. They become logic to a fault. And almost all to willing to sacrifice themself for the ‘greater good’. Even the most traumatic things they go through doesn’t phase them. It’s almost too much for Ignis to bear, and they make it worse by wishing for their memories to never return. “I’m more useful this way.”

He prays that they don’t think that’s true and prays their memories return to them. And he thinks that just maybe, he was heard.

Because one day it just comes rushing back to them. They’re helping him set up their small camping kitchen when they suddenly drop the plate they were holding. It shatters and they start hyperventilating and though Ignis tries to calm them, they pass out. So he takes them into the tent and sets them down, once more waiting for them to wake.

And when they do they dart out of the tent and into his arms, apologizing over and over again for the past few weeks, of not remembering, of not feeling anything. He refused to accept the apology because he feels there’s nothing to apologize for.

“You were hurt. It’s not your fault.”

Hey! Could you match me up, if it’s no trouble? I’m 165 cm (5’2?) “tall” with long brown hair and greenish brown eyes. I’m a kinda weird combination of dedicated scout, artist, actress and very lazy. Which means that after I deny that I have homework for an entire week and just play Animal Crossing the whole time, I leave the cave I call home for the weekend and direct a whole musical or go camping or sth like that. (I couldn’t fit everything in one ask, so I’m sending a part 2, hope that’s ok)

I match you with Ignis!

You guys work very much the same way, the only trick would be trying to get on the same cycle of work. He’d likewise be back and forth between relaxing and working. But he would make an effort to spend his free time with you.

Could I have a scenario where the chocobros’ s/o is an artist and they ask him to model for them? *suggestive eyebrow wiggle* It can be SFW or NSFW

Once again in the magical timeline of no war in Eos….

Noctis:

When they ask to model for them for their college class, he has to try and keep the blush from rising to his face. Why would anyone want to draw him?

They point out that he’s actually one of the most popular subjects to draw since he is a prince, he’s handsome (In some peoples opinions beautiful), and that most people idolize him to a point.

But then they’d smile and say if he didn’t want to, they could always find another model…Maybe one of his friends would help?

He’d make it a point to deadpan ask where they wanted him, because even if he doesn’t want to model for them, he doesn’t want anyone ELSE to either.

So he’d agree in the end. And it’d probably be just him in a regular setting honestly. Because the poor guy is barely keeping it together for just a few sketches while his S/O is staring at him so intently. Can you imagine his reaction if they said they needed him to take off his shirt for a few?

Prompto:

He be down for it. Like, they’d barely get it out of their mouths and he’d be like, LETS GO.

They’d end up in the park, and he’d find the most ridiculous places to pose in, along with the silliest poses.

And of course, there’s a sketch of him taking their photo.

All in all, an enjoyable experience.

(But when they get home they tease him about needing a nude model next week and he goes bright red. And they laugh and state they weren’t serious.)

Gladiolus:

Honestly, they probably wouldn’t even need to ask. They’d already be drawing him when he notices them sitting at the edge of the training grounds.

He’d catch them, and they’d say they just needed some figure studies. And since he was so active… They’d hoped he wouldn’t mind.

He doesn’t of course. And he’d only state that he’d be more then willing to be their model for this classes if they needed him to.

Ignis:

They ask and he’d say yes. It wouldn’t be a very large surprise. However, they never tell him when they’d need him to be their model and it’s soon forgotten about.

That is, until he finds that they’ve fallen asleep at the kitchen table. Their head is on top their sketchpad and he can’t help but see the many drawings of…him.

Him in the kitchen, reading a book, when he dozed off on the couch…It’s sort of endearing to see the little details they have of him.

He’d wake them and ask if they had enough for the class, or if they still needed a sketch or two.

Hcs with chocoboys and their crush (from noble family) is in an arranged marriage?

In a magical timeline, where Lucis never fell because there is no war…

Noctis:

He’s actually really chill with the idea, knowing since he was a child it might happen.

He is also very aware that most engagements with royalty happen when they’re children, so it’s a bit of a shocker it took so long.

It bothers him a little that it’s his crush, only because he feels like he wasn’t careful enough. That someone must have found out that he liked them. He feels like he took away their right to choose.

But he of course, does not argue, and marries them. Because the last thing he’d want was for them to fell like he was rejecting them if he dissented to the marriage.

They never really exchange how they feel about the arrangement, because they don’t want to know what the other thinks of them. Like what if they hated them for agreeing to this?

However, they’re both idiots because it’s clear to everyone on the outside that they both have a crush on each other. And it’s painful to watch. Because BY THE SIX THEY’RE MARRIED.

Eventually, it takes Ignis stepping in and accidentally, leaving the spouse’s favorite necklace out. And Noctis’ favorite book.

Things they both gave one another as children.

They finally realize how daft they’re being, and start to talk more. It’s not perfect, and the situation they’re in isn’t ideal, but they still feel like they could truly love each other.

(Much to Ignis’ annoyance, they BOTH like to sleep.)

Prompto:

As a crownsguard, Prompto earned the right to a noble title. Something he’s have no intention of claiming. He wouldn’t feel worth the effort that would take.(Not to mention he wouldn’t want to seem like he was trying to elevate himself.)

So the council steps in and basically arranges everything. They decide a marriage to a noble house was the solution. It’s only by chance that they arrange it with his crush. They just figured they were doing him a favor by arranging his marriage to a friend of his.

He feels anxious about it, but keeps it together for the most part.

The other three try to comfort him, but he actually at one point in time faints from how nervous he is.

As it turns out, his crush is also a nervous wreak about it.

They both end up dancing around each other, both feeling not worth the other’s time.

Eventually, they both work up the nerve to just TALK about it, and it results in Prompto causing his spouse to faint from a kiss on the cheek.

After that, they take the time to actually spend time together, now that both their feelings were in the open.

No, they’re not in love. But they could be. And after sometime, they would be.

Gladiolus:

This one was tricky. Because as the shield he was expected to protect Noctis. But finding out that he’d be marrying his crush would throw a wrench into things.

It’d be sort of an odd day. Where he’d be walking with Ignis and run into his crush, who’d mention offhandedly that his presence was required when the council reconvened this afternoon.

Ignis choke on his coffee. Because he knows why the council asked for Gladio to attend.

He’s made it known only to Ignis that he liked them, a while ago. And Ignis would have been trying to find the right time to tell him what was planned, but is so thrown off by the speed of the council, he blurts it out to Gladio the second they’re alone.

He takes it in stride and is surprisingly calm until he realizes that his crush may not know.

He goes to the council meeting, agrees to the match, because no one goes against the council, not to mention his father, for something like this.

He married them, and they seem like they don’t hate it.

That night, they just sit and talk, trying to figure the other out. They want this to be a good partnership above all else. (Both hope that love will come later.)

Ignis:

He is the one that gets out of it. He’s had practice after all, it’s not the first time they’ve tried engaging him to someone after all. (At this point, it more like a game to him and the council. “Is he clever enough to get out of this one?”)

He is. He heads it off before they even mention it to his crush. (It’s tradition to tell the lower house first before the higher house.)

But when he finds out just who they had planned for him, he can’t help the small flutter in his chest.

He’s not nearly so selfish as to sabotage himself because he likes them though. They both deserve a chance to choose.

But he does approach them, and let them know what had almost happened.

They offer him a small smile and just say that being matched with him wouldn’t have been so bad. But then they change the subject and offer him a deal.

“Lets pretend to date and that might stave off the council’s meddling for a while.” And he agrees.

Both hide that they do have feelings for one another. And soon, their pretending starts to blur with whats real. It almost feels like they really are in love.

And the next time him getting married comes up? He mentions that they’re ‘dating’ and would like to see where it leads.

For the short request maybe the Chocobros reacting to an affectionate and clingy Tonberry? I just love Tonberries gheyre my fav creature!

Noctis doesn’t quite know what to do when instead of a Tonberry attacking, it tugs on one of his shoelaces as if to get his attention.

There’s no knife in it’s hand, and it’s just staring at him with large eyes.

He eventually just goes with it and reaches out to pat it on the head. After all, when else would he get a chance to pet death incarnate?

And the Tonberry seems to enjoy the attention, so he ends up sitting on the ground cross-legged, and holding a Tonberry.

The others, though they initially freak out upon seeing just why the prince has fallen behind, let their weapons slip away upon seeing it’s not hurting Noctis.

No, rather, it’s not letting them get near him when it first sees them. At all. As if they’re the threat.

Eventually, he convinces the small critter to let them near him, because he emphasizes that they’re friends.

Of course Prompto is the one to win over the Tonberry’s trust. Because once he sees that it’s not attacking, he just rolls with it like Noctis did.

…except, he actually scoops it up and spins around with it in his excitement. It doesn’t seem to mind thankfully. Rather, he plops down on the ground next to Noctis to spend time with it.

The older two keep their distance, which suits the Tonberry just fine.

However, the trouble starts when they tell them that it’s time to go. They set it on the ground and tell it goodbye and start on their way.

…but it follows. And keeps following. And if they stop walking, it grabs Noctis’ shoelaces again.

Both the younger two give Ignis a look and he has to tell them that no, they CAN’T keep a tonberry.

It doesn’t agree.

When they get to a haven, it is gone for a short while, but soon reappears. It goes on like this for days, and eventually, they actually smuggle it into Cape Caem to stay with Iris. Which was Gladio’s idea. Because the boys can’t BEAR the thought of leaving it behind.

(Even ignis has warmed up to it.)

And that’s the story of how Iris the Daemon hunter got a pet Tonberry that assists her in fights.

Headcanons surrounding your headcanon of Ignis’ adoption? I am SO curious about it!!

His mother, though she can have children, just wanted a very large family. So she turns to adopting some as well as having her own.

Ignis was only a baby when they find him, and really, his family’s features are so diverse that he could have been related to them anyways. He is also the last child they have/adopt. SO HE’S THE YOUNGEST.

It’s not until he’s 5 that his parents sit him down and explain that he’s adopted. But not to worry, because, surprise, the Scientias actually known for adopting people into their family rather frequently.

He’s not the only one who was adopted they tell him. There were a few cousins, one of his siblings, a few aunts and uncles, and somewhere there’s a grandmother who had her adoption annulled a few times due to filing errors and was finally adopted correctly the fourth time. (Honestly.)

But they reassure him that they love him just the same as everyone else, but they felt it wouldn’t be fair to him that he didn’t know. Just in case he wanted to find his biological parents one day.

So he grows up knowing, and honestly, there is no difference between how they treat him and his other siblings. (He has 6.)

Though…there are some issues when his parents have to choose one of their children to work under his uncle in the capital city of Insomnia.

None of his other siblings express interest in the position but him. So, at 7 years old, they let him go. And the king welcomes him as Noctis’ friend and future adviser with open arms. Not to mention his uncle, who was currently one of the king’s adviser, dotes on him more than he should.

But the nobles of the capital were…less then pleased that they sent one of their adopted children instead of a bloodline child. Indeed, some viewed it as a slight.

…or did until his mother came all the way from Tenebrae after his first letter home has traces sadness in it’s words. And it’s been a long time since one of the nobles of the Scientia household grew truly upset with the other noble houses, and it nearly starts a feud.

She reminds them that the Scientias, though they serve the king, are one of the highest members of the noble houses, and that they dare question the status of one of HER children speaks to how little they must regard the king’s opinions. (It nearly comes to a duel before the King realizes that the Terror that is Lady Scientia has returned to the Citadel, and comes to personally stop the arguing.) (He also really REALLY wanted to see one of his old childhood friends again.)

That settles that. Ignis is officially the future adviser to Noctis.

(Also, his mother then makes it a point to plan a yearly family trip to Insomnia just pop up and frighten the other nobles for a month at a time.)((And it’s never at the same time of year.))

The whole situation does make him wonder just where he did come from. So he waits until he is 18 and has some free time to locate his birth family. And when he finds them, they’re very glad to see he found a future, and they part on good terms. He doesn’t go back to see them after the first time, not wanting to disrupt their lives again. They’re happy, and so is he. There’s no reason to keep kicking up dust.

Also, Noctis doesn’t realize Ignis is adopted. At all. No one tells him and it slips Ignis’ mind until Noctis is 16 and meets his WHOLE family at once.

“You all really don’t look alike.” Ignis would snort upon realizing he never told him, and just…not tell him for the rest of the night.

Noctis figures it out when Ignis’ siblings are teasing him and he says something to the effects of “At least mother got to pick me. She was stuck with you.” (Jokes along those lines are as natural as breathing to this family.) To which one of his older siblings would be like, “She picked me first.”

(But then he realizes that Ignis is the BABY of the family and never lets him live it down.)

hmm… not sure if you’ve done this before but how about the bros with s/o they’ve known since childhood who realize they’re in love with them only after they rescue them from kidnapping and gets hurt in the process?

Noctis:

  • He’s waiting for them to wake up, to tell them how much they mean to him.
  • It had been late in the day when he gets a phone call from their phone, right before the sun dips below the horizon.
  • He answers and expects their cheerful voice to be the one on the line.
  • Instead, he’s met with the voice of someone who holds a grudge against his father for letting the empire take so much.
  • Their act of revenge? Taking away someone they know he values.
  • The phone call ends when he hears their voice shouting for him to stay away.
  • Instead, he goes to Ignis and lets him know that his friend is in danger.
  • No one argues, each of them eager to save them. They drive all through the night to the place he last knew they had been, and start from there.
  • It takes them three days. Three days of the absoute worse scenarios running through his head of what’s befalling them.
  • So when they finally track down their captors, he unleashes hell. Even though it’s nighttime, the air is lit up with each of their attacks.
  • But he doesn’t notice the sharp shooter stationed above them on a nearby ridge.
  • But his dear friend knows. Even though they’re weaponless and in pain, they make the choice to protect the prince.
  • The shot rings out as the last kidnapper falls to them, and they all freeze. Each of them are eyeing each other with panic.
  • Who was that meant for?
  • But then he sees them standing behind him, facing out into the night air with an expression of concentration.
  • Prompto is the first to see the glint of a gun, and shouts, “Sniper!"
  • He fires before the other moves, knowing he’s the only one to make the shot.
  • And when they’re all sure the danger has passed, they all smile at one another.
  • The happiness doesn’t last.
  • His friend suddenly crumples, and none are near enough to catch them before they hit the ground.
  • Their eyes are fluttering closed as they press their hands to their stomach.
  • It’s a close call. They almost lose them in the time it takes them to dig out a potion.
  • They hadn’t awoke though.
  • They had set up camp and were just waiting for them.
  • What had given Noctis time to think.
  • He thought about how terrified and upset he’d been during the days they had been searching for them.
  • The elation he felt when they had reached them before anything truely horrendus had happened.
  • The utter terror he felt when they had fallen to the ground and nearly vanished from his life forever.
  • He needed to tell them everything.
  • Maybe then they’d understand that his feelings had progressed to something beyond friendship.
  • So much so, that he’d told the others that they would be traveling with them from now on. Clearly, someone had let it slip that they were important to him. Too important to be out of sight.
  • ~
  • They do wake up, and he does tell them after helping them sit up.
  • They don’t respond at first, and Noctis can slowly feel his heart sinking.
  • But then they lean forward and press a kiss to his cheek.
  • "It’s about damn time.”
  • (They’re super pissed about having no choice in staying, but can’t find it in their heart to stay angry at the prince.)

Prompto:

  • It was supposed to be a nice day outside. One of the few times they were all together again.
  • They were one of his friends from before…Well, Noctis. One he had lost contact with when the city fell.
  • It was the first time they’d all gotten to see each other after bumping into each other in Galdin Quay of all places.
  • So when the MT’s attacked, it was wholly unwelcome.
  • Even more so when they realized that their target was THEM.
  • They didn’t even think to question why they were after them, choosing to focus only on defending.
  • But they were over whelmed, and beaten. Prompto tried his best to hold onto them, as they had found their way into each others arms as they fell into unconsciousness.
  • He drifted in and out of consciousness, aware he was grasping them tightly one moment, feeling them jerked away from him the next, and watching them fight as best they could from their place over a MT’s shoulders in the last.
  • He passed out fully then, waking only hours later after a phoenix down was used on him.
  • They set out to find their taken friend, even getting Aranea’s help on locating where the ship was.
  • Noctis warped over and gained the rest of them access.
  • Ignis was the one sneaking around to find them while they caused as big of a distraction as they could on the ship.
  • Upon finding them, Gladio gave the signal for them all to get off. He was going to crash this thing into the sea. (He does and barely makes it out, but it was kind of fun to him.)
  • They’d been in their hands for less than 24 hours, but clearly they had fought tooth and nail to escape.
  • They were out cold, and Ignis guessed that it was because they had been drugged after not settling down.
  • So they wait. And sure enough, they wake up.
  • Without thinking his arms are wrapped around them, and he’s babbling about how scared he was and that they weren’t allowed to do that ever again and that he’s probably never going to let them out of his arms ever again so they should get comfy-
  • They’d rest their head on his shoulder and laugh, and it’d send chills up his back because he can feel their breath on his neck.
  • He doesn’t really get around to telling them, but he does indeed realize that he really loves them.
  • (They guess though, since he literally doesn’t let them out of his arms for very long while they’re with him.)

Gladiolus:

  • It’s in the form of a note left in Lestallum with Iris.
  • Apparently, they’d been on a hunt alone, and taken unawares by opportunists. Ones who were convinced that since they knew how to fight and spoke with the same refined accent as Ignis, they must have been someone important before the city fell.
  • And though they hadn’t wanted to say anything, after the fourth day they had cracked, and mentioned Gladio’s name as their friend, and mentioning he’s from a noble house.
  • The note also says that they refused to say which house he was from and mentioned that he wasn’t going to come for them. So they were going to test that by asking Gladio to bring them enough Gil for their ransom.
  • If he doesn’t bring it they’re dead.
  • Like hell he’s going to leave his friend with them. Considering they were Iris’ friend too, she asks to come with.
  • (There’s such a startling look in her eye that he allows it.)
  • But the time line. They had until the morning of the 8th day of them being held hostage. It was now the seventh day, and he curses himself.
  • They quickly gather what they need for an assault, because there’s no way in hell he’s giving them money and letting them get away with this.
  • (He also a little freaked out about what they meant by ‘they broke on the fourth day’. Were they hurt?)
  • They all pile into the car and go to where they wanted to meet him, and he goes alone. Or so it seems. Truthfully, the others are somewhere sneaking in behind him.
  • The first sight he gets of them has him seeing red.
  • They’re laying on the ground knocked out, black and blue. He can make out half healed cuts and a possible broken arm. (He can’t bear to look at their hands.)
  • He states that he’s hear for them, and then lashes out instead.
  • The other join in the fray and the kidnappers are overwhelmed. Most flee. But the leader?
  • He’s on the ground at Iris’ feet, an almost too sugary sweet smile on her face.
  • He scoops his friend off the ground and they leave to go back to Lestallum to allow them to recover after being healed.
  • When they awake, it’s from a nightmare. They swing at Gladio and he has to restrain them without hurting them because they’re fighting too violently and won’t listen to reason.
  • Iris steps in and her face snaps them out of their waking dream.
  • They don’t go into too much detail, and apologize for the trouble, letting a mask slip back over their face.
  • He gets upset that they’re just going to pretend it didn’t happen.
  • He asks to speak to them alone, and the others leave.
  • It is then he confesses that while he didn’t realize it before, seeing them on the ground had forced him to confront that he cared for them.
  • They sniffle, and say they didn’t want to be a distraction and had forced their own feelings away.
  • He spends the rest of the day just cradling them. He’d figure out everything else later, but for now, he was content with them in his arms.

Ignis:

  • He’s a little shocked when he finds their phone abandoned on a haven. And then he grows concerned when the last thing in the memory is a video of them during the night, recording themself.
  • They look disheveled, more so than he’d ever seen them. And it seemed like they hadn’t slept in days.
  • They speak quickly into the camera of someone following them. Of the paranoia they felt.
  • “If I go missing, please. Find who did this.”
  • They then set their phone down, hidden but with a clear view and wait their attacker. And it turns out they weren’t parinoid. Someone does come for them.
  • They fight tooth and nail, but whoever this was had an advantage. They were clearly well rested compared to them, and had been planning this.
  • So they, in an unexpected move, rip off their mask and start listing details. Committing them to memory the attacker must assume, but truthfully, it was for the camera recording to pick up. Ignis turns off the video, and gets to work.
  • It turns out, there’s a string of missing people that match his friends description. But this is the first time one of them was smart enough to leave a clue behind.
  • He hurries to find them when they mention that when these missing people were found, none were alive.
  • He takes the others with him to comb through the woods where they had slain deadeye, because that’s where most of the bodies had turned up. At first people had assumed it was the beast at work, but after a group of hunters had slain it (Cough cough) the real reason behind the bodies was revealed.
  • It is there they find them, one the ground and limp, pale as death and barely breathing.
  • They get them up and heal them as best they can, waiting for them to awaken, or for the person who took them to return.
  • Upon waking up, they grab onto Ignis’ sleeve, like they had when they were younger, and says nothing.
  • When they calm own, they let go and say that the man left them for dead because the wouldn’t shout in pain no matter what he did.
  • Ignis just gathers them into his arms and holds them, because they are shaking rather badly.
  • He loves them, he has know this for a while. This is just the first time he’s forced to acknowledge it. He knows that they cannot be anything more than friends. But he allows himself this. Holding them until the fear disappears.
  • (He also swears, that he’s going to hunt down the man who did this and ensure he never does it again.)
