153. “You didn’t tell me it was karaoke night..”

One thing the Luna enjoyed, ever since marrying Noctis, was
the life all around the city.

From the Citadel she could see the lights of the city during
the night, and how the city came to life during the day. Rarely had Luna seen,
growing, people who weren’t restricted with rules and regulations that had been
enforce with an iron fist. Here, people didn’t have fear in their eyes.

Another thing she enjoyed was the music.

She’d grown up with Niflheim’s stilted music, deemed fit for royalty while the lively music of the people was considered vulgar. But here in Lucis, even in the citadel, radios played music. Lively, upbeat, music.

One such song was playing in her and Noctis’s quarters now. Ever since she moved in, she’d been listening when she had time. And while she was supposed to be in meetings with Noctis and the rest of the council, she’d had a headache. And once he’d heard that, he fretted over her until she excused herself from the meetings.

But now that she felt better, she was sitting at her desk, penning a letter to Ravus about her new life in Insomnia. However, as she wrote she didn’t notice that she was humming. Not even when she switched to singing along with the notes.

It was then, while her mind was preoccupied, that Noctis slipped into the room. He listened for a short while, a small smile on his face as he watched his wife. Once she was singing along with the chorus again, he crossed the room, and put his arms around her shoulders.

She slightly jumped, but when she turned her head and saw who it was, a smile lit up her face.

“Noctis. I didn’t hear you come in.” She glanced at the clock and then back at him, “I didn’t realize it had gotten so late.”

He gave a small laugh and replied, “You didn’t tell me it was karaoke night, otherwise I would have been here sooner.”

She hummed in a amusement and kissed the corner of his mouth in response.

May I have a matchup?? If not that’s a ok I’m 5’1 I’m love girls I’m really shy and yhhh have a strong phobia of bugs so I’ll cry or have a panic attack if I see or hear stuff about bugs haha. Everyone tells me I’m mature??? I’m shy. I’m quite a handful haha thank you so much!!

I think Luna would be a good match. She’s very quiet, and mature as well. But I have a feeling she could handle a bug if one ever crossed your path. And naturally as the oracle she’d be good with handling you when you fall ill. She’d not want you to push yourself if you didn’t have to, and fret over your health while you worked. But she’d understand the need to be functioning, and let you do what you felt was necessary.

Oh God, I loved how you wrote my request (about falling for the wrong person), it was absolutely perfect! Can I ask for similar one but with other characters, maybe Luna and Ravus or any characters that you would like to write about? It’s okay if you don’t want to though :))

No problem! I can’t think of any for other characters unfortunately. But Luna and Ravus did get something.

Luna:

She wants to believe that the pain from their past is what causes them to verbally lash out at everyone. And that as the oracle and their friend, she could heal them. Even if this darkness wasn’t the one she was blessed enough to take away. Her brother would try to convince her that her efforts are in vain. Soon after, he switch to saying she had tried hard enough. There was no healing them. But she’d keep pushing and pushing, hoping to reach through their anger and the hurt to ‘who they really are’. But she can’t. No matter what she does she can’t. Because she’d eventually realize, after yet another night of crying from their angry words, that the person she was looking for inside them didn’t exist. There was just their anger. And it would cause her to learn her hardest lesson:

You can’t heal everyone.

Ravus:

Training under the empire was an interesting time for him. He’d been beaten, bloodied, and bruised from training. However, he’d give as good as he got to his sparring partner, and their anger from the bouts against each other soon dissolved into misplaced feelings on both their parts. They’d hurt each other, and somehow, that became how they showed affection for one another. Hurting each other was the only way they could express what they felt, and it was far from healthy. During a visit to Luna, she’d worry about him. Noticing that he was slightly manic in his actions. And he’d snap out of the fervor he’d managed to work himself into. Upon returning to training, he’d see the same look on their face, and try to snap them out of it. But when he couldn’t he’d give up on them, ask to switch partners, and refocus on his goals.

There are people you’ll meet who’s just won’t be good for you, and no matter how much you care for them, you aren’t good for them either.

Can you do a headcanon thingy for Ravus who’s trying to court very shy and gentle person but ending up scaring a shit out of them and Luna have to “say the day”?

Ah! I’ve never done anything for Ravus, but I’ll do my best!

Ravus, despite all outward appearances and the confidence he has in battle, is completely at loss for what to do when it comes to liking someone.

It doesn’t help that the person he ended up liking has the deposition of a hyper-alert rabbit.

Every time he tries to approach, they seem to find something else to do and leave in a hurry.

This goes on for a while, and he doesn’t realize it, but his face grows more and more displeased every time they see him.

So his crush, thinking that they’ve somehow angered him, avoids him as much as possible and tries to stay out of his way for the most part.

Which ends up frustrating him even further.

So he tries, against his and Luna’s better judgement, to sneak up on them.

Well. It works.

They jump about a mile in the air, but once they settle down he actually manages tot get them to stay for a few moments to talk(Which ends up mostly being him speaking and trying to coax them into a conversation). But then, just like always, they bolt.

And they end up becoming a ghost for the most part when Ravus is around.

They see him before he sees them? Whoops! Away they go! They forgot they need something in the cellar.

He sees them before they see him? They’ll feel his stare and make themself scarce before he can approach them. (Which leads to some rather odd hiding places…like under a rose bush.)

Sometimes he finds them, sometimes he doesn’t. Either way, he gets this funny look on his face and his crush worries about that look sometime. He’ll help them out from where they’ve hidden and they’ll have a very…lack luster conversation. (Pulling them out of the rose bush was an event. One that resulted in tangled hair and rose petals clinging to the both of them for days. Neither bring this incident up in conversation. Ever.)

Gist of it is, Ravus is very…stubborn when if comes to pursuing someone they like. And his crush is very timid, and naturally runs from things that are chasing them.

Eventually, Luna has heard enough about the two dancing around each other and is nearly pulling out her hair in frustration. (She really wants her brother to be happy.)

She honestly feels like their opposing natures would compliment each other well, and bring balance into both their lives.

She decides to meddle and brings his crush flowers, stating they’re from Ravus.

The crush doesn’t understand, but accepts them with a pleasant smile on their face. (Luna is much easier to be around.)

Luna proceeds to explain things clearly in a gentle manner of why it seemed like Ravus was being a bit overbearing. This of course flusters his crush and they burry their face in the flowers Luna brought to them.

At this moment Luna counts her blessing as Ravus just happened to be walking by where the two were speaking. She waves him over and gets them to talk, actually talk this time, before taking her leave.

From there it would be up to Ravus to figure things out, and to the crush as well. (Though I think they’d both, after speaking for a moment, be pleasantly surprised about where this was going.)
