let’s start with our boy noct:

• when u tell noct or when he finds out about ur family being shitty his immediate response is “what the fUCK”
• hes caught in that weird state of about to cry and about to fight and truly hes ready to do both at that point
• bc he just wants to keep you safe more than anything, really
• whenever somebody raises their voice in your vicinity, he immediately bristles bc he knows it might upset you
• he trains himself to be a less deep sleeper so that if you need to call him or if you need to wake him up bc things are bad then you can
• he’s not great at expressing emotions or feelings in general but when he tells you he loves you and that you are enough and that you’re not worthless despite what your family will say, he means it with everything in him

prompto:
• the boy literally cries when he finds out
• like deadass hes almost sobbing because he loves you so fuckin much and hates that you have to go through that and wants nothing more than to see you safe
• coddles you to some extent, always making sure you’re comfortable with the events unfolding and who’s around you
• tries to take you out as often as he can so you don’t have to be with your family
• sleeps less bc hes texting you until 3-4AM making sure you’re okay
• buys you stuff like a teddy bear or a stuffed rabbit so that if things are bad and he can’t be there for you at that point then you have something to remind you of him
• tells u he loves u all the fuckin time so that u never forget how much u mean to him & that even when the world is against u, he’s still got ur back
• god he is such a sweet boy

gladio:
• you best believe hes fuckin mad
• like livid
• like you gotta talk him out of going and kicking your family members’ individual asses bc he’s so fuckin mad that they would say that kind of shit to you
• lowkey incredulous bc it’s hard for him to think of family treating family like that
• bc of this & like prompto, he tries to get you out more often & feed you & make sure you’re sleeping well
• makes sure u have one of his keys to his house in case he’s not there & u need to get away
• calls you every few hours to make sure things aren’t escalating
• his go-to question is “do you need me to come get you?” bc hes consistently got his keys in his pocket & all u gotta do is say the word & he’ll come get u
• wants nothing more than to keep u safe & sound

ignis:
• when he pieces it together u can physically see his jaw tighten & his knuckles tighten & you think he’s gonna combust for a hot minute but instead he relaxes & holds u
• he wants to do everything he can to protect u & make u feel safe & wanted & valued but he knows there are some things out of his control & it pisses him off so much that he can’t do more for u
• like gladio, he gives you keys to his place in case u need to get away
• he asks u to speak ur mind more often when ur with him bc god knows u don’t get to do it enough when ur home
• he texts u gentle messages morning & night like, “good morning, love . i hope you slept well .” & “good night, love . today was difficult but tomorrow will be better, i promise.”
• reassures you casually throughout the day that you are worthy of love and valued and that you’re more than them & that he is excited for the person you’ll become when you no longer have them in your life to hold you back
